Problems of waterproofing the floors have arisen, requiring restoration work. TUBESCA-COMABI, French leader in the manufacture and marketing of access and work at height solutions, and FMS Ringue, specialist in the rental, installation and removal of scaffolding, in partnership with Degaine (Vinci Group) will to carry out this emblematic project together.
Internationally renowned, this major monument of the 30s is the subject of extensive renovations to the terraces and square of the Trocadéro. TUBESCA-COMABI and FMS RINGUE have combined their know-how to design a scaffolding following the contours of the structure and responding to all the constraints related to the work and interventions of the various trades. Thus the two companies will ensure the supply, assembly and dismantling of scaffolding and protective umbrellas and Degaine will intervene in the restoration of the square on the Passy side (in masonry and freestone). This 16-month project will be deployed in 4 areas and the assembly will be assembled, then dismantled and transferred from area to area in 4 stages.
Zone 1: a unique installation in its design and installation
Work began in May in zone 1 for a period of 4 months. The entrance and supply area of this area is 18 m in height in total and therefore three levels of stairs have been designed and constructed. To ensure the junction between these two parts, a footbridge has been set up to facilitate the movement of equipment and workers from the lowest point to the highest point for the various bodies of state. Likewise, a construction elevator has been installed to streamline and speed up the handling and movement of materials and people. The structure consists of a class 5 scaffolding (the M368 multidirectional, without the elevator) dimensioned and calculated to take up the forces generated by the elevator. In addition, a second connecting walkway 16 m high and 20 m long is implemented to facilitate access and movement between the storage area and the work area. In addition, the Café del'Homme restaurant will remain open to the public throughout the construction period, so blackout storage solutions have been provided so as not to inconvenience customers.
An atypical umbrella application to guarantee comfort and protection
An umbrella of 700 m² of scaffolding was designed by the TUBESCA-COMABI design office in order to guarantee easy and quick implementation from assembly to disassembly. The first phase of the work consisted of removing the slabs so that the protective scaffolding rests on the periphery of the intervention area and is then directly anchored to the ground. The execution of the work on a slab requires a free height under an umbrella of 3 m. The trusses are made with aluminum beams allowing quick and easy assembly without tools, on which slides are positioned to accommodate the protective tarpaulins. This installation mobilized 6 people for 3 weeks for zone 1 and the gangway.
"We are very proud to be working on this site, which represents one of the most famous places in the capital. In recent months, all the TUBESCA-COMABI and FMS RINGUE teams have mobilized to design and implement structures adapted to the strong constraints of emblematic sites such as the Center Georges Pompidou at the start of the year and the Pantin town hall recently. This new place is once again the recognition of quality collective work carried out with the teams and our partners. " explains Jean-Baptiste Spinicci, Managing Director at FMS RINGUE & Technical and Commercial Director at Tubesca-Comabi.
