In this context and to offer the best in safety at height to its customers, TUBESCA-COMABI, French leader in the manufacture and marketing of access and working at height solutions, is developing its range of rolling steel scaffolding. and aluminum.
The NF EN 1004 was initially published in 2005 and concerned products measuring more than 2,50 meters in height (from 2,5 m to 12 m floor; 8 m outdoor floor). The new version of the standard now defines a new perimeter for rolling scaffolding from 0 m to 12 m floor (8 m outdoor floor).
The main modifications required by the new version of the standard: NF EN 1004-1
- The height of the working floors is changing: the maximum authorized height for the first floor is reduced from 4,6 m to 3,4 m.
- The maximum spacing between floors decreases. The old version of the standard provided for a maximum inter-floor height of 4,2 m; it is now lowered to 2,25 m to promote ergonomics and reduce the risk of falls.
- The use of stabilizers is becoming systematic.
- The maximum height of the 1st rung on the access ladder is reduced. When the first floor is located at a height of less than 2,00 m and access cannot be made from the inside, a solution to access the floor from the outside must be provided to guarantee the height of the 1st rung at less than 40 cm from the ground.
The baseboards, under rails and the floor hatch are also affected by the modifications. The sub-rails must be present on all floors (including intermediate floors). The minimum space between plinths and floors is reduced. The floors must be equipped with a mandatory automatic closing system.

To meet the requirements of these new regulations and meet users' needs for safety in work at height, TUBESCA-COMABI is renewing its range of rolling steel and aluminum scaffolding. Its innovative solutions, totally secure for personalized height access, are the result of extensive R&D work carried out by internal teams.
For Dominique PAGNIEZ, Director of Development Tubesca-Comabi: “As we have always done, we have anticipated the evolution of the standard to limit accidents and increase the safety of users of our products. The year 2022 will therefore be marked by structural changes to a new range of rolling scaffolding. On this occasion, we have embarked on a concrete and innovative CSR approach by reducing our packaging by more than 50% thanks to simplified packaging on pallets. "
Tubesca-Comabi has made changes to its range as follows:
Tubesca-Comabi launches the RUNNER. With comfortable dimensions and a withdrawable base, it can be used on a level shift or on a staircase.
The dimensions of the CROSS evolve. The ladders of this aluminum scaffolding, with a 2 m extension system, have been widened and go from 0,60 m to 0,65 m wide. The models now benefit from new ultra-functional “Ergoblock®” stabilizers. The CROSS 180 is complemented by a new version 250.
Galvanized steel rolling scaffolding, GENERIS 750 et 950, offering a very quick and safe installation are equipped with an additional floor level and access cradle.
The Neolium SX 5,80 m floor, the aluminum master key that can be used on flat and uneven ground, has an additional floor level.
The five models in the range TOTEM, the best seller in aluminum, will be equipped with a new additional access cradle.
