Triangle Tower: Launch of preparatory work before the start of construction in January

Earlier in the day, the mayor (LR) of the 15.000th arrondissement Philippe Goujon, opposed to the project, had indicated on his Twitter account that "despite the resolute opposition of the inhabitants, environmental associations and the town hall of the XNUMXth arrondissement, the works of the Triangle tower begin: an energy-consuming juggernaut of XNUMX tonnes of concrete, imposed by Anne Hidalgo, which does not meet any need ".

He had accompanied his tweet with two photos showing an excavator at work on the site, clearing rubble.

Contacted by AFP, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield said "it was at this stage preparatory work for clearing and boring. The construction of the Triangle Tower - as such - is expected to begin in the near future. January".

In June, the courts opened a preliminary investigation for "favoritism" around the concession on which this tower is to be built, which has been the subject of fierce disputes for years.

The project at some 700 million euros - according to estimates circulating in the press - provides for a tower 180 meters high and 42 floors to be erected within the walls of the Parc des Expositions at the Porte de Versailles. In particular, it will house a four-star hotel, more than 2.000 square meters of shared workspace ("coworking"), a health center and a cultural space.
