Tramico launches Tramicordon, an acoustic cord for the insulation of tiled floors

Pollution is not only environmental, it is also noise: impact noise, heels hammering a floor that is also a ceiling, children playing loudly, neighbor moving furniture… Repeated, this noise annoyance can become unbearable. To remedy this, the DTU 52-10 standard requires acoustic insulation of floors, by installing a thin insulation under screed.

Insulation and separation

There are two types of interior noise in a home. : so-called “aerial” noises (discussions, radio, television, etc.) and shock noises (shoes, chairs, work, etc.).

In all cases, these "cross" the floor and are transmitted directly from the upper floor to the lower floor, or sometimes also, by vibration, in the horizontal and vertical elements of the structure.

Among the advice given to ensure soundproofing of the home, there is a golden rule consisting in separating the walls from each other. Sound efficiency is based on this total separation: "the floor covering must not touch the partitions, the plinths must not touch the floor covering".

Tramicordon® is an acoustic cord which is in the form of a cross-linked polyethylene foam strip and which contains an immediate setting adhesive side.

Good to know

The width of the Tramicordon® to be used depends on the thickness of the tiling, the adhesive and the finishing joint (approximately 3 mm).
