Thousands of concrete opponents gathered in the Larzac

"We thought it was great to have this meeting of struggles on the Larzac, on land won by the struggle," said Sara Melki, spokesperson for the Confédération paysanne de l'Aveyron, to AFP. , in reference to the mobilization of the 1970s against the extension of a military camp to the detriment of agricultural land.

"There is a lot of useless concreting: highways, warehouses, commercial areas. There are also polluting projects", she added, specifying that opponents of the project to bury the most radioactive French nuclear waste in Bure (Meuse) will also take part in the meeting.

Dozens of meetings, round tables or training workshops are planned for La Couvertoirade, a small village in Aveyron.
