A stable and resistant range

With its expertise in the secondary processing of wood for nearly 30 years, PROTAC presents THERMOWOOD, a high-end wood range that is 100% environmentally friendly and 100% recyclable. Based on spruce and pine from renewable and PEFC-certified Nordic forests, this eco-responsible offer is the result of a patented process that provides unrivaled characteristics to the wood.

In fact, raw wood is treated at high temperature (212°C) in an environment saturated with water vapor and without any addition of chemical products, allowing the wood to reach an extremely low moisture content, between 4 and 7%. This final result gives it exceptional dimensional stability and extreme resistance to rot. In addition, this process eliminates the resurgence of resin, a recurring phenomenon when wood is subjected to high heat.

A carbon-neutral treatment that is sustainable over time

Furthermore, this treatment generates a neutral carbon footprint because 1 m² of THERMOWOOD captures and stores 5 times the quantity of CO2 required during its production throughout its life cycle.

This patented process gives the wood durability over time because it adapts to climate variations, making it particularly suitable for High Environmental Quality (HQE) constructions but also for Low Energy Buildings (BBC).

With its high-performance hydrophobic power, this Essential finish is designed for outdoor projects and is available in 3 colours (Charcoal, Silver and Authentic). It offers good colour retention over time and is guaranteed for 5 years.

The Charcoal finish gives a burnt wood look to bring a contemporary style to the facades. Although the dark color absorbs heat, the product maintains great stability and as a reminder, prevents the resurgence of resin thanks to the properties of THERMOWOOD.
