While the Ministry of Ecological Transition has introduced a state bonus to encourage the French to install a smart thermostat in their homes, Somfy is announcing new, even more efficient features to its connected thermostat, eligible for the "thermostat boost" granting an aid of 150 € on the cost of installation.
A programmable and 100% programmed thermostat
Somfy's thermostat is 100% programmed by users, breaking down the idea that a programmable thermostat can be useless when not programmed. It is estimated that many programmable thermostats are not programmed, and thus do not provide all of the benefits promised, unlike Somfy's thermostats.
One of the widest compatibilities on the market
Faced with this new system put in place by the State, it is clear that the rate of equipment in France is still low: only around 10% * of French people would be equipped with a connected thermostat, despite their desire to change their habits and reduce their energy consumption. Indeed, depending on the domestic equipment, finding a thermostat compatible with your heating can quickly turn out to be complicated. The new Somfy connected thermostat offers wider compatibility. Compatible with heat pump / boiler / pellet stove / electric radiator / underfloor heating, it can be adapted to the multitude of existing heating systems. Somfy offers assistance in choosing from its website to check the compatibility of more than 2500 heating system references before the purchase phase (https://trouvermasolutiondechauffage.somfy.fr). Thus, the best solution will be recommended according to its type of dwelling, its type of boiler, etc.

Optimized energy performance
The new Somfy connected thermostat has a new regulation algorithm that is more efficient and specific to each type of application: after a few weeks, the self-learning mode refines the heating regulation, to perfectly adapt to the characteristics of each system.
Thanks to the “coaching” function, the user benefits from personalized advice to improve consumption and reduce expenses. They can also set consumption goals and be alerted when they are reached.
According to the Environment and Energy Management Agency (Ademe), installing a room thermostat saves an average of 15% of energy, i.e. an annual decrease of 210 euros ( source: ADEME, estimated figure for a gas-heated house, for an annual bill of around € 1400).
The performance of the wifi and bluetooth components has also been improved. Finally, the installation process has been redesigned to be faster and more convenient.
Tailor-made comfort
The new version of the Somfy connected thermostat is equipped with a “touch wheel”, which allows users to regulate the temperature more efficiently and easily.
Its intuitive application allows you to automatically program your thermostat in one minute. It now offers the possibility of changing the sizes of the zones and the temperature difference for the “geolocation” function.
A complete ecosystem
Compatible with TaHoma, the Somfy connected thermostat can be associated with energy saving scenarios integrating other Somfy equipment such as motorized shutters and sun sensors. For example, opening the shutters makes it possible to take advantage of the heat of the sun and to lower the heating, saving up to 10% * on the heating bill.
The thermostat is also compatible with Amazon Alexa, IFTTT and Google Home.

Availability and prices:
The connected thermostat is available in 2 versions:
- Wired connected thermostat: recommended retail price of 149 euros incl.
- Radio connected thermostat: recommended retail price of 179 euros incl.
As a brand that makes a commitment to its consumers on the sustainability of its products, Somfy offers a 5-year warranty.
The Somfy connected thermostat is eligible for the State's “boost” on the pilot wire and pellet stove electrical installation.
Since July 1, 2020, the “Thermostat Help” program aims to promote household energy savings by allowing them to reduce their heating consumption this winter. To achieve this, the State offers aid of 150 euros for the installation of a latest generation thermostat capable of optimally programming the heating. The premium is financed by the mechanism of Energy Saving Certificates (CEE) or CEE energy premiums, which require energy suppliers to contribute to the financing of work to improve energy performance in private homes.
