Coming from all regions of France (81% French vs. 19% international) to discover the innovations and new products of exhibitors at the BATIMAT, IDÉOBAIN, INTERCLIMA and EQUIPBAIE/METALEXPO trade shows, these professional visitors also showed a strong interest in the conference programs and numerous events offered from September 30 to October 3 at Paris Expo at Porte de Versailles.
All professional profiles mobilized
The increase in participants recorded for the 2024 edition of the Mondial du Bâtiment was notably reflected in a 15% increase in French visitors from different regions.
Top 5 French regions attending the Mondial du Bâtiment: Ile-de-France, Hauts-de-France, Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, Grand Est and Nouvelle Aquitaine.
The presence of international visitors was on the rise (4.000 additional visitors, or more than 25.000 participants in total). Among the main countries represented were Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Germany, Tunisia and Belgium. In addition, Mondial du Bâtiment 2024 once again welcomed many international delegations, including those from Benin, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Brazil, Canada, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, Germany, Senegal, Pakistan, Finland, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, as well as a large Moroccan delegation.
The high-quality exchanges observed during the 4 days of the event were possible thanks to the presence of all the key players in each segment of the sector. Welcomed by 2022 exhibitors (+15%), all the Building and Construction professions were thus strongly represented: Implementers/Installers (35%), Distributors (19%, up +37%), Project Management (14% up +17%), Manufacturers (14%), Organizations (13%) and Project Owners (6%).
INTERCLIMA, a successful bet
The players in the HVAC sector have once again mobilized to make this 2024 edition an unmissable event, starting with UNICLIMA members, installers, decision-makers, and the main industrialists in the sector. The show was able to count on a 16% increase in the number of exhibitors (383 including 161 new ones) who welcomed primarily French visitors (84%) coming mainly from Ile-de-France (45,7%), Hauts de France (7,5%), Grand Est (7,5%), Auvergne Rhône Alpes (7,3%) and Nouvelle Aquitaine (5,2%).
The profiles of INTERCLIMA visitors are comparable to those of the Mondial du Bâtiment: Implementers/Installers (37%), Distributors (18%), Specifiers (14%), Manufacturers (13%), Organizations (12%) and Project Owners (6%).
The 2024 edition of INTERCLIMA focused on tertiary solutions by offering a unique program in collaboration with the main professional organizations as well as a dedicated exhibition space with most of the industrial leaders.
At the same time, a very comprehensive programme of speeches on all the issues facing the sector was a great success (more than 2000 listeners) thanks to current topics such as biofuels, a new type of heat pump, solar heat and renewable energies, etc.
Another highlight, the Biomass Boiler Space was present for the third time at INTERCLIMA, bringing together the main players in the sector around the different fuels (logs, pellets, wood chips, etc.) to answer all visitors' questions. The Ventilation and Air Quality Workshops offered the opportunity to explore the latest advances and best practices in the field of ventilation and indoor air quality.
Finally, a space hosted numerous start-ups from the sector, offering a concentration of technologies and innovations, which complemented the promotion of participants in the innovation awards.
IDÉOBAIN, an essential place of inspiration
IDÉOBAIN, the trade fair dedicated to bathroom equipment and fittings, combining functionality and design, recorded an increase of +2024% for the 36 edition, or 166 exhibitors (including 83 new ones).
On the visitor side, the international visitors show real differences with BATIMAT and INTERCLIMA with a top 5 grouping Morocco (14%) and Tunisia (9%), Italy (6%), Portugal (6%) and Algeria (6%). As for the Top 5 of French visitors, IDÉOBAIN's includes Pays de la Loire (5,9%) alongside Ile-de-France (40,5%), Hauts de France (9,4%), Auvergne Rhône Alpes (7,1%) and Grand Est (7,8%).
Regarding visitor profiles, IDÉOBAIN also observed a distribution which places installers and implementation at the top of the list (36%), followed by distributors (20%), project management/prescription (14%), manufacturers (13%), organizations and services (11%) and project management at 6%.
To meet the expectations of the various visitors to IDÉOBAIN 2024, zero step was highlighted through demonstrations on the AFISB stand. Industrial brands were also able to offer product demonstrations and new products on their stands, and discuss bathroom equipment solutions with visitors.
The unique start-up space "Le Lab de la Salle de Bains" has focused on responding to current issues (alternative uses of the bathroom, accessibility, sobriety of materials, water saving, etc.) through innovative and complementary solutions. The content of the "Carnet des Dynamiques d'Innovation de la Salle de Bains" designed by Impulse Partners was presented during a workshop every day at the Idéobain Forum.
Also scheduled at the IDÉOBAIN Forum were rich speeches, proposed in partnership with Le Club de l'Amélioration de l'Habitat (CAH), the Pôle Action des Architectes d'Intérieur, the companies TCO and Spark Vision. Finally, pitches relating to the 2024 Innovation Awards gave the floor to the 3 winners and nominees in the Bathroom category.
BATIMAT, an event at the heart of the debates
Present in Pavilions 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of Paris Expo at Porte de Versailles, BATIMAT hosted EQUIPBAIE-METALEXPO and brought together a total of 1473 exhibitors (including 559 new ones), an increase of 19% compared to 2022.
Like every edition, visitors to the BATIMAT show were strongly mobilized for the unmissable event in the sector. The French represented 85% of the visitor volume, mainly from Ile-de-France (45,3%), Hauts de France (8%), Auvergne Rhône Alpes (7,5%), Grand Est (7,4%) and Nouvelle Aquitaine (5%). On the international side, the 3 Maghreb countries (Morocco 13%, Tunisia 9% and Algeria 6%) are in the Top 5 alongside Italy and Belgium, each representing 6% of the visitor volume.
The international tour prior to the fair was a great success, identifying and bringing together architectural experts from several countries visited. The Architalks round tables, held on the international day, provided a privileged space to exchange ideas and share experiences on crucial themes: summer comfort and energy renovation.
The profiles of visitors who visited BATIMAT do not show any change compared to the previous edition: Implementers/Installers (36%), Distributors (17%), Specifiers (14%), Manufacturers (14%) and Organizations (13%) and Project Owners (5%).
BATIMAT invited all stakeholders in the sector to change their perspectives through four key themes: adaptation, innovation, territories and Women & Men in construction.
These major topics were covered by a rich program of speeches, offered in different formats, carried out on 14 different stages, and embodied by nearly 250 conferences and activities. A particular focus was placed on energy renovation with a program of Renotalks conferences on Agora 1, and masterclasses/workshops on the Renodays spaces.
In 2024, BATIMAT has resolutely placed itself at the heart of the challenges of the construction sector and their impacts faced by all players in the sector, with the ambition of offering answers and analyses adapted to the different profiles of professional visitors.
In this context, BATIMAT has imagined several events and highlights on eco-responsibility in connection with the climate crisis. Thus, the opening plenary conference of the show put three guests in the spotlight - the economist Jean Pisani-Ferry; Christian Clot, explorer-researcher, Founder and CEO of the Human Adaptation Institute and Benoit Bazin, CEO of the Saint-Gobain Group - who came to share their vision of the future of the sector represented by the President of the FFB Olivier Salleron and the President of the CAPEB Jean-Christophe Repon, in particular in the face of the climatic and economic challenges of our society. At the entrance to Pavilion 1, professionals were able to discover Climate Sense, a unique immersive experience imagined by Christian Clot, designed to simulate work situations on construction sites at +50°C. The Art of Waste exhibition allowed to exhibit a selection of works of art made from recycled elements from some exhibiting companies. A real mix between a board game and a mind map, the Fresque de la précarité énergétique proposed to better measure the extent of this phenomenon and understand the issues related to this scourge that affects millions of French people. The Fresque de la construction. allowed to grasp in a fun way the environmental and social issues related to the construction sector around 5 essential themes: needs, urban planning, design, construction, use and their consequences.
Unique, Equipbaie - Métalexpo has joined this new edition of BATIMAT to offer their flagship event to specialized professionals (manufacturers, installers, fitters of joinery-closure, bay equipment and metalwork). Present in Pavilions 4, 5 and 6 and divided into 9 sectors (Joinery, Closures, Verandas & Pergolas, Métalexpo, Hardware, Solar Protection, Glass Products, Home Automation & Control Systems, Machines & Tools), it brought together 388 exhibitors (50% more than the joinery/closures/metalwork area of Batimat 2022) and offered various highlights and discussion areas such as the Window Pole Workshops (examples of themes covered: New version of the NF P01-012 standard: the new concept and requirements; Optimize Thermal Comfort: the Impact of Solar Protection on Renovated Buildings; Master DE-Baie: Ultimate Guide to the FDES Configurator for Bay Products), Architalks dedicated to joinery, & the Métal'Jeunes Competition.
At the same time, several spaces made it possible to focus on specific themes by bringing together all the players in the same place and organizing dedicated programs: Low Carbon Construction, Start-Ups by Construction Tech®, Off-Site and Photovoltaic.
Finally, let us recall that, thanks to its success, RENODAYS set up at the Mondial du Bâtiment in the form of a specific zone and conferences dedicated to the energy and performance renovation of buildings and was also represented at BATIMAT, EQUIPBAIE & INTERCLIMA with an ambitious programme of content (nearly a hundred speeches).
In 2025, the RENODAYS Forum will return on October 7 and 8, still at the Porte de Versailles, and will host different formats of exchanges and exhibitions that made it a success when it was launched in 2023.
Next meeting of the Mondial du Bâtiment at the Porte de Versailles from September 28 to October 1, 2026.
