The works of Notre-Dame de Paris in timelapse

The work is colossal, and the stakes are high: the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral, which welcomed an average of 30 visitors per day and which held 000 offices per year, is still closed. The damage is immense, the spire overlooking Notre-Dame, which measured 2000 meters and which was undergoing renovation when the blaze broke out, collapsed on the burning roof. Deformed by the heat of the fire, the 96 pieces of scaffolding deployed to reach it posed a significant threat. The cutting of the scaffolding around the spire was completed last November thanks to the work of scaffolders, rope access technicians, aerial work platforms and crane operators. The perilous phase of the security and consolidation work, prior to the restoration of the building, should now be completed before next summer.

To bear witness to this effort and to share the progress of this work with the whole world, the Notre Dame Foundation has chosen Digibox, a company specializing in timelapses and site monitoring.

The Digibox solution is a connected box that allows photos to be taken at regular and scheduled intervals to meet the challenges of communication for construction projects in real estate, construction and the renovation of historic sites. The final product is a bank of intelligent photos and the production of a timelapse film retracing the history of a project and its site.
