In line with the observations made in recent years, window number 1 is once again the PVC window which:
- represents more than 1 out of 2 windows (more than 59% market share, +12,6% compared to 2019)
- is installed in a single-family house as part of renovation work, mainly in the Ile-de-France region
- is available at more than 98% in the form of a French opening striking window, rectangular and mainly white
- achieved a high level of thermal insulation performance (+82% of PVC windows exceed the requirements in MaPrimeRenov')
- remains the first window in France marked NF.
* The Market Study for the 2021 window, conducted by Cabinet Prospection & Prospection between March and July 2022, on behalf of the professional organizations SNFA, UMB-FFB, UFME, with the financial support of CODIFAB.
A sector that will remain agile
For Bruno Cadudal, President of UFME: "The window market exceeded 2021 million units in 11 (i.e. growth of 12,5% in volume in two years) and should manage to grow slightly further in 2022, in particular thanks to the constant expansion of home renovations. Indeed, Cabinet P&P presented carpentry as an agile sector whose supply should be able to continue to meet demand, while remaining cautious about the fact that the market is currently advancing in tight flows, in terms of materials, but also and especially in terms of human resources. Two points to which we pay great attention. Our objective is always to promote the French-made window, its advantages and its performance, in particular through the NF marking. It is also essential to do everything possible to remind us of the effectiveness of joinery in the context of renovation work. All the more so today when we are experiencing an unprecedented energy crisis. At a time when the specter of restriction hovers, it is essential to combine comfort, energy savings and preservation of household purchasing power. At the same time, our sector must continue to publicize our professions and our knowledge, in order to attract new generations to a profession that has been enormously modernized. »
