The Velux Group eliminates almost all plastic from its roof window packaging

The VELUX Group, the world's leading manufacturer of roof windows, has chosen to take massive action by removing expanded polystyrene (EPS) plastic components from its packaging. This approach is part of its sustainable development strategy aimed at making its packaging mono-material, plastic-free and 100% recyclable by 2030.

This measure has a direct impact on the environment, but also on the climate. It contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of the group's product packaging by 13%. The VELUX Group has planned to reduce the carbon footprint of products by 50% by 2030.

Finally, the operation simplifies recycling for customers when separating and sorting packaging waste, making disposal processes both more efficient and less expensive.

Launched in 2020, the Group's sustainability strategy is part of a 10-year transformation journey in which the VELUX Group will pioneer climate and nature actions, create sustainable products innovative and will conduct responsible business.
