« In 2008, I started my self-employed business specializing in sanding and laying parquet and vinyl floors. The development of the business allowed me to create an SAS in 2018. With my employees, we work a lot as subcontractors for local companies in the Grenoble area for whom we carry out apartment renovation work. We also work with insurance companies who call on us to intervene in the homes of individuals who have suffered water damage.
"We obtained the Vitrification Trophies award-winning project through word of mouth. The apartment is located in a very beautiful 4-storey building, which dates from the beginning of the century. We had worked in one of the apartments to restore the parquet flooring. Given the beautiful result obtained, we were asked by the neighbors to carry out the same work, and in the end we worked in 3 of the 4 apartments in the building.
For our client, we restored a 50 mXNUMX parquet floor2 with a 3D effect pattern in the living room and dining room. This handmade parquet floor made of noble woods, maple and walnut, had not been maintained for 15 or 20 years. It was very damaged in some places, we had to fill the holes first.
We first sanded it and then collected the dust from the parquet after sanding to mix it with the Plastor colourless filler binder*. This mixture obtained made it possible to fill the damaged areas by getting as close as possible to the colour of the parquet.
Then we applied a PRIM'SO* hard base coat and 2 coats of PUR-T®3 Mono* satin Plastor varnish. We had offered different samples so that our client could choose the finish she wanted.
The work lasted a good week with the drying time. The client, who rediscovered her parquet, did not think she would have such a beautiful final result. I must also admit that this parquet is one of the most beautiful that I have had to restore in my entire career.
I have been using Plastor products for around thirty years, so I know their quality very well and they have evolved a lot in recent years in terms of formulation. »

2nd prize: Rainier III Auditorium in Monaco
Jacquemond Parquet Company
Jean-Christophe Jacquemond – Manager
« A family business specializing in the installation, renovation and maintenance of parquet floors, Parquets Jacquemond was created in 1960 by my father. In 1986, I decided to join him to work with him, and today we are 3 employees. We work with insurance companies for the renovation of parquet floors following water damage in residential homes but also for businesses, communities, etc. With the many projects carried out over all these years, we have acquired a very good reputation on the Côte d'Azur and our professionalism is recognized. In fact, we have many customers who come back to us several years later.
"The Rainier III Auditorium in Monaco is a place I know well. I worked there 3 times: at the age of 20, 40 and 59. I laid the parquet flooring, maintained it, renovated it... This time, it was a question of giving a new lease of life to the 250 m2 of top-quality 23 mm solid oak parquet whose varnish layer had been damaged.
We had to carry out the work during the summer period, once the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra concerts were over. We carried out a traditional sanding before applying 2 coats of Plastor Naked Wood Effect* primer, under the advice of the Plastor sales representative and in agreement with the Auditorium Congress Center. Then, we applied 2 coats of Plastor Pur-T®3 Duo* satin finish varnish.
It took 10 days of work, including drying and hardening of the finish, to restore its character to this beautiful space.
We work in trust with the Plastor teams. I am used to using their products and have been for a very long time since my father was one of the oldest buyers of Plastor products on the Côte d'Azur. He even used the first varnishes in 1960!
I naturally asked the Plastor representative for technical support on this project to present the products that would be used to the members of the Auditorium Congress Center. It was a way to show them our professionalism and they trusted us completely. »

« With my partner, we created the company Les Sens du Bois in 2009. We specialize in sanding and finishing parquet floors and stairs, and today we work with 3 employees.
The owners of the Relais Saint-Michel, an exceptional panoramic restaurant facing Mont-Saint-Michel, contacted us directly to renovate the oak parquet flooring in the restaurant and seminar room, a total surface area of 600 m2. They wanted a quick renovation, in less than a week, to avoid too much loss of business due to the restaurant's closure, and a finish that would be highly resistant to heavy traffic with a satin appearance. To meet their needs, particularly in terms of deadlines, we recommended the UV drying vitrification technique, which allows for an ultra-short drying time and very rapid return to service.
"The straight parquet floor laid in English style in the restaurant room had suffered a lot in some places. In fact, large, fairly thick plastic stickers had been stuck to the surface and over time it was impossible to remove them by hand. In addition, the joists were very damaged at the bar, particularly where the high stools were. It was necessary to dismantle approximately 2 m2 of parquet flooring to reconsolidate it and replace the slats.
After restoring the damaged areas, we sanded the parquet floor using a belt sander with different grits, from the coarsest to the finest, in order to refine the wood. Then, we polished the surface using a 4-head quadro finishing sander, ran the edger over the edges with different grits before applying the Prim'So* Plastor hard base coat. After 1 hour of drying, we applied a first coat of Plastor UV-Time®* varnish. The special feature of this product is that it can be walked on for 1 to 30 hours after its application and that it dries instantly when used with a UV machine.
Then, we lightly sanded the surface before applying the second coat of UV-Time®* varnish. 1h/1h30 after application, we dried the product with the UV machine. The restaurant room was able to be reorganized immediately, and the establishment was able to reopen quickly.
In a very short time, 2 to 3 days, and with 4 people, we were able to renovate and re-protect the oak parquet flooring in the 2 rooms.
We have been using Plastor products for over 15 years. We had already been trained by the Plastor team in the UV curing technique and the use of the UV-Time®* varnish for other projects. We are now proficient in the implementation. »

PLASTOR products used by the winners
FILLING BINDER*
Plastor filler binder* is a synthetic resin to be mixed with sanding sawdust, as fine as possible, to faithfully reproduce the colour of the parquet floor. Intended for filling joints and imperfections in wood, it is also suitable for resurfacing wooden parquet floors on edge, end grain, strip or panel parquet floors, whatever the type. It dries very quickly and is compatible with all colours and finishes in the Plastor range.
Hard base BARE WOOD EFFECT*
Plastor's NAKED WOOD EFFECT* hard base coat deeply impregnates the wood, blocks the rise of tannin while completely preserving its color to give it a totally natural appearance. It is formulated with anti-UV agents to limit the effects on the color of the film. It is used in a system with all Plastor PUR-T®* water-based varnishes.
Ready to use and easy to use, its fluid formulation allows for uniform application without traces of rework. It dries very quickly, in 1 to 2 hours between coats, and does not require sanding. It is recommended to apply 2 coats of hard base and 1 coat of varnish.
PRIM'SO* universal hard base
With a high penetrating power that allows it to form an ideal bonding base for the finish, the universal hard primer PRIM'SO* is compatible with all Plastor varnishes (in aqueous phase and solvent phase). Its pore-filling function neutralizes antioxidants to ensure perfect drying of all parquet varnishes. Very comfortable to use, PRIM'SO* dries quickly and has no unpleasant odor. In addition, it gives a light honey color to the parquet and is suitable for all types of wood, both on new and old wood.
UV-TIME®* VITRIFIER
The UV-Time®* varnish guarantees exceptional resistance to wear, stains and scratches. Thanks to the hardening process using a UV machine, this single-component polyurethane varnish (water phase) hardens instantly to the core and allows the premises to be put back into service as soon as the work is completed during the day (1 undercoat and 2 coats of varnish). It provides treatment for all parquet floors, even the most stressed, whether on new or renovated floors.
UV-Time®* does not contain isocyanate, and with only 3g/L of VOC, it is labeled EC1+ and classified A+ in indoor air quality. UV-Time®* is applied like traditional varnishes but with UV curing in addition, an operation no more difficult than a sanding pass.
Monopur-T®3* VITRIFIER
Plastor Monopur-T®3* is a single-component varnish with the hardness of a two-component. Suitable for living rooms or public places with high traffic (offices, schools, function rooms, shops, restaurants, etc., except gyms), its formulation ensures rapid hardening and accelerated core drying for return to service within 5 days.
Ready to use, it limits mixing errors and waiting time for product application. Its filling and tautness are exceptional, and it benefits from very good abrasion resistance.
Monopur-T®3* is suitable for vitrifying new or old parquet floors or interior wood derivatives (woodwork, skirting boards, etc.) in all types of wood, but also for worktops.
Rated A+, this varnish is safe because it does not contain isocyanate.
PUR-T®3 DUO* VITRIFIER
PUR-T®3 DUO* Plastor is a two-component, water-based polycarbonate sealer for high-stress rooms and public places. Made from a 90/10 mixture, it is very pleasant to apply.
Fat, without annoying odor and classified A+, it gives a good filling, a non-yellowing film and a long recovery time. It helps preserve the light tone of wood when used directly on raw wood. It is perfectly suited to parquet floors or new or old interior wood products in all types of species. Finally, it is formulated with 0% NMP (N-Methyl Pyrrolidone) and NEP (N-Ethyl Pyrolidone).
