The town of Falck (57) successfully completed an exemplary renovation of the roof of its village hall for collective self-consumption

Located 5 km from the German border, in the Moselle department, Falck suffered a storm in 2021 causing significant damage in the town. Among them, the roof of the village hall, already weakened by a design defect, collapsed almost completely.

As part of its rehabilitation, the town hall then decided to build one of the sections, benefiting from a beautiful orientation, with photovoltaics to save energy. Following a call for tenders launched in the fall of 2022, Edilians' SOLAR MAX tiles were selected as well as the HP10 HUGUENOT terracotta tile for the rest of the roof.

Built in 1998, the Falck multipurpose hall is made available to local associations and the 2.535 inhabitants of the town to host festive events and meetings. After being closed to the public since these violent winds which completely deprived it of coverage and the time of the insurance expertise, Mayor Pascal Rapp wanted to quickly renovate this 400 mXNUMX space.².

« As part of this rehabilitation, the municipal council asked itself the question of killing two birds with one stone and taking advantage of this roof repair to create the south-west facing section in photovoltaics. » says Pascal Rapp. Already having to supply the HP10 HUGUENOT terracotta tiles in Ardoisé color, the Lacroix company in charge of project management then advised them on EDILIANS solar solutions and more particularly the black SOLAIRE MAX.

After collecting the testimony of an elected official who used EDILIANS photovoltaic tiles and following studies carried out to ensure the relevance of the investment, the municipality decided to launch and trust EDILIANS . “ We are all facing rising electricity costs. As a local authority, our primary objective is to save money. If we do nothing, who will? We are here to lead by example and this was the right time to do so » explains the Mayor. He adds " Furthermore, according to our calculations compared to what EDILIANS offered us in terms of photovoltaics, with a product guaranteed for 30 years, the investment should be amortized after 10 years. This confirmed our idea ».

With a surface area of 560 m², the new roof of the village center village hall is now half covered with 480 black SOLAIRE MAX tiles which integrate harmoniously with the HP10 HUGUENOT Ardoisé tiles. With an estimated production of 37.300 KWh/year, the installation largely covers the electricity needs of the building, especially busy on weekends, and allows the neighboring town hall building covered in silver DIAMOND tiles, open every day, to benefit from the surplus production for its own consumption and thus achieve significant energy savings!

« For a total amount of work (renovation of the roof, replacement of the heating system, ventilation, electricity, etc.) of more than €700.000 financed in part by the state and the Grand Est region, the achievement delivered in March 2024 was very well received by the population. As for me, aesthetically, I was speechless when I saw the result because we really don't see any difference between the two tiles. It's honestly a magnificent product. » concludes Mayor Pascal Rapp.

Officially presented last April, the Falck village hall with its terracotta tiles and SOLAR MAX tiles from EDILIANS should undoubtedly seduce the elected officials of the region, invited on this occasion, and convince them to also embark on the 'adventure !
