The SNFA unveils its new FDES Collective curtain facade

As the representative of aluminum carpentry professionals, the SNFA announces the publication of its collective FDES Facade curtain.

This news is of capital importance for facade professionals who, for the design of new buildings under RE2020, depended on default and penalizing values ​​for these products. Indeed, these data did not take into account the work of the profession on the reduction of the carbon footprint of their solution (traceability of aluminum by the choice of suppliers closer geographically, integration of the Alu+C- , etc.).

These collective FDES Facade curtain collective are carried by the member companies of the SNFA (facade designers and facade design offices) who have committed to provide data as close as possible to their actions and environmental approaches.

To enable its members to meet this obligation and to supplement the collective data that already exists on other products, the SNFA is publishing four new highly anticipated collective FDES concerning curtain walling:

• Frame curtain facade from 50% to 75% glazed
• Frame curtain facade from 76% to 100% glazed
• 50% to 75% glazed grid curtain facade
• 76% to 100% glazed grid curtain facade

These FDES are verified and are available on the Inies database. Their use is reserved for SNFA members only. For this, the SNFA issues the certificates essential for their use, only to its members.

These FDES will allow the entire profession to continue to offer glazed solutions with light aluminum facades and to meet new environmental requirements.

They also incorporate the “Alu+C-” traceability approach, which makes traceability of the carbon footprint of aluminum profiles (billet and spinning) robust. This approach is the property of the SNFA and the GFA (Grouping of aluminum spinners).
