The RTK.42 system, the safety ally for lifting operations on Grand Paris Express construction sites

CAD.42 has been developing connected solutions since 2016 to improve operator safety on construction sites and industrial sites. These solutions based on connected objects allow centimetric geolocation and are implemented to reduce the risk of accidents related to coactivity such as vehicle / pedestrian collision.

The production rates of the Grand Paris Express sites are very strong. The use of Mobile Cranes in addition to Tower Cranes is the norm to ensure deadlines or to carry out special operations. Nevertheless, the dangers of collision between Mobile Cranes and Tower Cranes are significant and can significantly impact the production of the site. Mobile cranes may also be required to operate in environments that are constrained in terms of risk, for example near operating railways.

Based on this observation, almost all of the Grand Paris Express lines have at least one site that uses the RTK.42 system for the safety of goods or people during lifting operations with Mobile Cranes:

RTK.42

RTK.42, an acronym for Real-Time Kinematics, stands for CAD.42's new device to help crane operators work safely. The battery-powered device (8 days of autonomy) is magnetized on a crane block or a mobile crane jib head in a few seconds and allows geolocation to 10cm precision in 3 dimensions. No on-site infrastructure is required. The data is sent over 3G or 4G in real time to the Unifield online computer which will alert the crane operators in the event of danger via a tablet fixed in the cabin which is also connected via 3G / 4G.
