Notre-Dame's renovated interior to be seen on television Friday

Entitled "Notre-Dame se révélation", this special broadcast is scheduled eight days before the reopening, on December 7, of this world-famous monument, ravaged by a fire in April 2019.

The programme includes a "guided tour of the new framework, the nave, the choir and the chapels", France 2 said in a press release, promising "the new Notre-Dame as you have never seen it".

After a five-year construction project, secrecy still surrounds the appearance of the interior of Notre-Dame, even if unauthenticated images have circulated on the social network X. They were reposted by billionaire Elon Musk, owner of X and close to the American president-elect Donald Trump.

The inauguration of the renovated cathedral will take place in several stages.

On Saturday, December 7, in the late afternoon, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, will deliver a speech on the forecourt of the cathedral, before attending a liturgical ceremony, in the presence of international guests, including heads of state and government.

This service will be followed, according to the diocese, by a "broadcast that will bring together artists, moments of homage to the companions and the firefighters, moments of dance and music." The list of participating artists has not been revealed.

Everything will be broadcast live from the forecourt by France Télévisions, which will ensure the capture and broadcast of the highlights of the weekend.

The inaugural mass for the consecration of the new altar will take place on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
