It is a magnificent project that the one proposed by the architects of the SANNA BALDÉ studio, whose construction started on June 22, 2022. The result of a partnership between the Seine-et-Marne Department and the FFCK, the future site is intended to be multifunctional and inclusive, to promote the sports concerned in France and around the world. Currently already a leisure center welcoming athletes practicing canoeing, the site is expanding and modernizing, particularly in view of the next Olympic and Paralympic Games, some of whose events will take place there.
The desire to create a comfortable building all year round while preserving the environment
For the architecture studio that was selected from 10 proposals, the idea was to propose a design that fits perfectly into this natural environment of the nautical base and that represents the values of the federation: sport, nature and well-being. Accompanied by the Elements Engineering design office, the SANNA BALDÉ studio made the choice from the start to propose a project that takes into account environmental issues, and even if no specific label was requested, the result is very close.
Designed in bio-sourced materials (wood, concrete floors) including the recovery of earth from the construction site, the concept includes a rainwater recovery basin, a green roof and plenty of room is left for vegetation to create islands of freshness. The facade will be made entirely of wood, with tilt and turn windows for ventilation.
For Anna Sanna, one of the architects: “We have designed a building which is not too thick and which benefits from natural ventilation thanks to the through floors. We chose to equip it with an active slab because it is the most appropriate system to respond to these environmental issues by integrating summer and winter comfort. »
The choice of the installer in charge of the "HVAC" part (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) also reflects the customer's desire to be part of a committed approach in favor of the environment. The selected company, CLIMAGE, is based in Torcy just a few kilometers from the site under construction. A local company that is committed to paying particular attention to CSR development in the construction industry, and which notably offers to employ local subcontractors and workers.
For Franck Gaus, manager of CLIMAGE: “We responded to the call for tenders with the ambition of offering a local service and supporting local professionals, including ourselves. We also provide waste reprocessing via a short circuit. »
For this company specializing in heating installations and in particular in radiant surfaces, this is a great first: a first project in an active slab, and a first project with the REHAU brand. “REHAU products were prescribed in the specifications. Even if we have never had the opportunity to work with the brand, we know it and its quality is renowned, so we had no reason to propose a variant, especially since the REHAU team supported us well in the preparation. »
The REHAU ACTIV + active tile, an efficient and practical element to implement
For Mathieu Ferney, head of the fluid division within the Elements Engineering design office: "The contracting authority wanted the systems fitted to the building to be as passive as possible, so we oriented them from the start towards the active slab, because it provides gentle heat and good inertia, and goes well with a pump. in heat. »
The principle of the active slab is based on the use of the mass of the concrete structures of buildings as a reservoir of heat or coolness. Operating at low temperature levels, it is advantageous in terms of energy consumption with reduced investment and operating costs. The ACTIV + system is particularly useful in cooling mode, to maintain real summer comfort even in very hot weather.
The advantage of the active slab is that it allows geocooling operation. The creators have indeed proposed a system powered 100% by geothermal energy, whether for heating or cooling.
Geocooling: in summer, the active slab system cools the building using water from the ground, without going through the heat pump. This allows considerable additional energy savings.
For Mathieu Ferney: “The specifications required maintaining the temperature in hot and cold without air conditioning. We therefore carried out the necessary studies to validate that the REHAU active slab system would ensure optimal summer comfort, so that the building would be comfortable all year round. We also suggested that the customer switch to a geothermal heat pump to further increase the virtuosity of the system. »
The ACTIV + active slab solution is a high-performance and economical solution, which adapts perfectly to the geometry of each building: the modules are delivered prefabricated for direct and rapid installation on the site. For the installer, it therefore saves time and makes it easier to install on the site.
For the FFCK building, there is between 800 and 900m² of active slab, divided into 5 zones and controlled by a regulation system.
