For more than 50 years, the brand has stood out for its aesthetic, technical, innovative and sustainable solutions.
The French manufacturer has just obtained Technical Experimental Appraisal (ATEx) from the CSTB for its SKYFILL opaque glass roof panel. This certificate allows ISOSTA to test its innovative solution through reference projects and to obtain initial feedback. In addition, it validates the authorization for the use of the SKYFILL panel in glass roof projects for all types of new or renovated buildings. Aesthetic, this panel displays remarkable thermal, acoustic and safety performances allowing it to meet the professional recommendations “Rules of the Art Grenelle Environnement 2012”.
Particularly effective, this innovation from ISOSTA has already been implemented in prestigious projects such as the expansion of the La Part-Dieu shopping center in Lyon (69) or the modernization of La Samaritaine in Paris (75).
A technical glass roof solution adapted to market needs and tailor-made
Fully glazed skylights are very popular with architects and project owners to guarantee a significant amount of light inside buildings.
However, after several years of operation, they present an unsatisfactory energy balance. Indeed, in winter, these glass solutions let in the cold while during summer periods, the heat inside the building becomes unbearable and very energy-consuming to control.
Based on this observation, the French manufacturer has carried out research and studies over the last 4 years with the aim of overcoming this problem with an insulating solution while maintaining clarity.
It is with this in mind that he imagined in 2021, the panel SKYFILL, a totally innovative and 100% French opaque solution. Composed of an exterior facing in sheet aluminum, steel or enameled glass, insulation (mineral wool or extruded polystyrene) and an interior facing in sheet aluminum or steel, the assembly is supported by a standard or shiplap wooden frame.
SKYFILL is easily installed using a glazing bead system on 4 sides or 2 sides with a point holding device on glass roofs with a slope greater than or equal to 5°.
Featuring inclined sealed fallen edges as well as a sealant on its periphery, the panel ensures water evacuation to eliminate any risk of penetration into the interior of the panel.
Ideal for new buildings and renovations, it is intended for all types of buildings (tertiary sector, housing, ERP, etc.).
In order to meet all configurations, the panel is produced according to the customer's specifications. Depending on your expectations, whether they are aesthetic, insulating, thermal, etc.
ISOSTA designs your panel SKYFILL tailor-made directly to the requested dimensions.
A high-performance filling element (EDR)
Aesthetic, the new technical panel for glass roofISOSTA displays remarkable performance.
Thermal resistance, acoustic attenuation, through its tailor-made composition and design, SKYFILL fulfills all the technical specifications of the Specifications of Special Technical Clauses (CCTP) for the comfort of the occupants inside the building.
Thanks to its performance, the new solutionISOSTA meets the professional recommendations “Règles de l'Art Grenelle Environnement 2012 (RAGE)”, a program allowing energy savings and reducing greenhouse gas emissions during the construction of a building.
Furthermore, whatever its exterior finish, the panel SKYFILL resists shocks, validated by the M50 / 1 Joules test. It also protects professionals intervening during maintenance operations on the canopies in the event of a fall.
Finally, according to the specifications, ISOSTA has the capacity to offer a panel with a fire resistance of up to 60 minutes to protect the occupants of a building against a fire.
Major achievements
The effectiveness and numerous advantages of this innovation from the French manufacturer have convinced us and feature prominently in large-scale projects such as the modernization of La Samaritaine in Paris. In this project, the objective was to develop a 1-hour flame arrester panel solution to meet the fire safety standards and challenges of new constructions.
ISOSTA designed a 2-sided steel sheet glass roof panel to be integrated into the periphery of one of the new glass roofs of La Samaritaine to breathe new life into this historic place.
Another notable achievement, the expansion of the La Part-Dieu shopping center in Lyon (69) with the creation of a 6.000 m² glass roof where ISOSTA provided more than 400 panels SKYFILL, i.e. a coverage of 1.800 m².
This integration of the new panel offers an acoustic attenuation of 30 RA,tr and a thermal resistance of 4,04 m².K/W to the building.
