The site was covered with the new Level RS® model from ERLUS and required 2 tiles, laid over an area of 500 m².Modern and rectilinear, Level RS® effectively protects low-slope roofs without any waterproof substructure .
Level RS® tiles, a convincing solution for low slope roofs
“Thanks to its triple lateral and head interlocking, the Level RS® flat tile can be laid for particularly gentle slopes. On this site, the Poeschl company relied on the new low slope roof tile from ERLUS and an HPV undercover screen. "
As of the installation of the flat tileLevel RS® which is certified according to the standard prEN 15601 made the happiness of the installers. Despite the low slope, this tile frees specifiers and roofers from the need for tedious and costly under-roofing.
However, this step would have been essential with conventional flat gauge tiles.
"The combination of a modern and rectangular tile with a low slope2 greatly facilitates our work", enthuses master carpenter Stephan Poeschl. “Carpenters are moving more and more towards low-pitched roofs, while customers increasingly want roofs with flat-looking tiles. However, the tiles available on the market find it difficult to contain the rain in a low slope configuration ”, He continues. “The new Level RS® triple interlocking tile from ERLUS has proven to be really solid. We hardly had to deplore any breakage on the site. This flawlessness delighted our employees ”.
The new ERLUS tile is already the third tile model specially developed by ERLUS for particularly low slope roofs. The Level RS® tile is available in deep red or intense slate. On this site, the intense slate color was chosen.
High resistance to rainwater penetration
When it comes to waterproofing, the Level RS® tile combines two major advantages. On the one hand, it has a minimal degree of water absorption thanks to its clinker quality firing at 1.200 degrees; on the other hand, its triple side and head interlocking promotes the evacuation of rainwater. Thus, even with very low slope configurations (nominal slope of 16 degrees or minimum slope of 10 degrees in cross-laying), the substructure remains dry.
High resistance to wind and hail
The Level RS® tile has high wind resistance. In cross installation, you can even do without hooks. On this hipped roof, the tiles have nevertheless been bitted on the side of the edges. The anti-storm notches, which can be found on the other mechanical tiles in the range, guarantee an exact positioning of the type I or II hooks.
“The installation of hooks can slow down the site. We therefore usually use the storm hook II, which can be quickly positioned with one hand and with a single click ”.
The Level RS® tile, like the entire ERLUS range, has a high level of certification against hail. It reaches resistance class 4, that is to say that hailstones with a size of four centimeters in diameter do not damage the tile in any way. This model belongs to the large ERLUS-XXL mold family and is part of the 38,5 centimeter gauge group.
Very easy to use on site
With its featherweight of only 4,8 kg and its beautiful peripheral interlocking, the Level RS® tile is very easy to install. This cubic detached house with a very flat 4-sided roof was perfectly suited for a first installation test. Stephan Poeschl, manager of the eponymous company, was delighted by the quality of the flat gauge tile in the intense slate color.
“The model is not only attractive from a visual point of view, but also scores points for its compatibility with low-slope roofs. Also during installation, the tile impressed our employees with its great stability and excellent cross-layering ».
Cutting work at the edges was very easy to do. Thanks to the strength and quality of the tile, there was hardly any breakage.
A whole range of ERLUS brand accessories
At the level of the chimney, the carpenters installed an 80 cm step for the chimney sweep. Even with roof slopes of 16 degrees, these “chimney sweeping installations”, specified in DIN 18160-5, remain useful on the smooth surface of engobed roof tiles.
All ERLUS aluminum accessories are very robust and corrosion resistant. On this roof, the roofers have integrated an ALU sanitary ventilation tile in diameter 125 mm and an aluminum ventilation tile in diameter 150 mm, in perfect harmony with the tile model and the color of the roof. The high-end engobed coating (facade quality), in accordance with the individual color of the tiles, creates a uniform and durable appearance for decades.
Among the original accessories, the manufacturer also supplies the support for ALU-SYSTÈME solar panels (see image), adjustable in height (20 mm) and certified according to standard EN 15 601. Now even renovations with purlins and failures transverse rafters can accommodate solar installations in a straight line. This bracket has an exceptionally high rated load, which does not rest on the rafters. The weight is transmitted to the underlying construction via a plank structure. The latter can even be installed on rafter insulation systems. Finally, this ingenious accessory makes it possible to significantly reduce the number of supports required compared to conventional fixings and represents a significant saving. Solar panels can thus be installed quickly and safely without damaging the roof.
The new Level RS® tile and the matching ERLUS brand accessories are available in France in specialist stores.
