In 2022, this meeting, unique in Europe, will also celebrate its 30th anniversary; the opportunity for Jean PIVETEAU, newly appointed President of Carrefour International du Bois after Pierre PIVETEAU, President of the show since 1992, to discuss his expectations and ambitions for this next meeting. Indeed, faced with an exceptional current context for the entire wood industry (increase in global demand for wood, tensions on the markets, etc.), the Carrefour International du Bois is, more than ever, an essential event to meet many players and exchange with them on all subjects related to the world of wood.
Jean PIVETEAU, new President of Carrefour International du Bois
In October 2021, Jean PIVETEAU took over from Pierre PIVETEAU as President of Carrefour International du Bois. He also chaired its first steering committee on October 26th.
“This show is an essential industry tool. It was my brother Pierre PIVETEAU who founded it within FIBOIS Pays de Loire, supported by the interprofession in partnership with the port of Nantes in 1992. The idea was to provide a tool to enable companies to the timber industry to have a place to present their products and know-how. Very quickly, this show met with great success to the point of taking on an international dimension both from the point of view of exhibitors and visitors”, evokes Jean PIVETEAU.
Resuming the thread of exchanges in an unprecedented context for the entire timber industry
With its record attendance of 11 visitors and 500 exhibitors, the 563 edition of Carrefour International du Bois was a real success. And while this biennale has just experienced an unprecedented 2018-year break, stand marketing is, 4 months before the event, still very encouraging: "the success of stand marketing demonstrates the exhibitors' impatience to meet », explains Jean PIVETEAU. The event will indeed be an opportunity for all professionals to reconnect with each other and with visitors, as well as to take stock of these 4 years which have brought their share of twists and turns within the wood industry. Indeed, since the last edition, the use of wood as a material has made leaps in all sectors of activity and parts of daily life.
For Jean PIVETEAU, this is explained by a generalized awareness of the fact that the wood material responds favorably to the current, and essential, energy transition: “The 16th edition of the Carrefour International du Bois will also be an opportunity to build the future in view of the global increase in demand for wood. This fair is also the unique and ideal place where wood users will meet manufacturers, operators, processors or even institutions and distributors to find solutions to each of their needs”.
The Carrefour is indeed an undeniable high point for exchanging, between professionals, on current markets and prospects. This is also the time for visitors to secure their supplies.
Strong themes at the heart of the exchanges
The Carrefour International version 2022 will make the subject of resources one of its priorities during its conference times.
For Jean PIVETEAU the issue is very clear: “The sector must reassure the users of our material: There is wood in the forests. Each year, only 80% of the biological growth of French forests is harvested. Faced with strong market demand, our country must show its ability to reindustrialize and invest in processing plants: the state recovery plan should make a strong contribution to this”.
The President of the show adds that the players in the wood industry are also mobilizing through a Manifesto aimed at challenging the candidates for the Presidential election with 23 concrete proposals to defend the interests of the industry and the benefits of the wood material.
The organizers of the show will also offer 3 new conference formats: round tables in long format, conferences in TV set mode and pitch formats in the innovation area of Hall 1.
