The Sekoya industrial club unveils the winners of the second call for solutions launched on its platform

Since the creation of the platform, nine partners representative of the entire construction value chain have joined the initiative to form the Sekoya industrial club in order to provide their carbon expertise and promote the implementation of carbon-free solutions. Several major groups are thus brought together in their sector: Covivio, Gerflor, GRDF, Legrand, Saint-Gobain and Vicat as well as the Union Sociale pour l'Habitat, which represents social housing organizations, CSTB, the main research center and sector expertise and CEEBIOS, the Center for Studies and Expertise in Biomimicry, the latest member of the club.

The first call for solutions, which rewarded 5 winners in January 2020, made it possible to initiate around twenty collaborations with the club's partners: from the feasibility study to the association of solutions to responses to calls for tenders or projects. The second call for solutions focused on 2 themes: low carbon design and construction, low carbon uses and operations. During the three months of application, 56 solutions were submitted on the platform, from several countries, including countries outside the European Union. This Thursday, December 17, the 10 pre-selected start-ups presented their innovation to the jury. The solutions are all located at the junction of several pillars of sustainable development and skillfully play on several of the following strengths: renewable energies in new and in renovation, construction materials storing carbon, circular economy and soft urban eco-mobility.

ESITC Caen

Le Pavé Coquillage is an innovative, sustainable and local solution to meet economic and environmental concerns. The formulation of the draining paver incorporates marine shellfish co-products in its composition, also limiting the use of natural resources.

Carbon Cure

CarbonCure's technology chemically mineralizes CO2 waste during the concrete manufacturing process to make it more environmentally friendly and stronger.

Nielsen concept

The Mobilypod, a secure, connected, multi-service bicycle shelter responds to one of the main users' fears: the fear of theft. These shelters are made from recycled shipping containers, transformed by a work reintegration workshop, and autonomous in energy.

Its product, Pavé, is a material that comes in the form of plates. Recycled and recyclable, it is made locally from plastic waste collected on French territory.

The jury's favorite is:

Axibio

Connected voluntary drop-off point dedicated to the collection of bio-waste. Equipped with an innovative access control powered by a solar panel, it allows the recording of the weight deposited by the users. The data returned on the web allows the animation of this new selective collection.

Caeli Energie specializes in the design and manufacture of residential air conditioners with high energy efficiency and low environmental impact.

An electric heater with integrated storage and a centralized battery capable of supplying all the electrical appliances of the house and of storing the energy produced by the solar panels as well as the energy with low carbon content (wind and solar) drawn from the national grid in times of low demand.

Upcycling

This solution offered to local stakeholders is a turnkey solution for composting bio-waste. The company offers activities, pre-collections at voluntary drop-off points, collections by electric trailer, electromechanical composting as well as the recovery of compost in green spaces or urban agriculture.

With this second call for solutions, Sekoya is responding to its vocation to identify low-carbon solutions and to support their designers in a large-scale implementation by allowing them to integrate future calls for tenders. Non-exclusive, these innovations work for shared sustainable development and will promote interactions between all players in the sector.
