The FFB and Pôle Emploi strengthen their collaboration to support companies in their recruitment needs

The French Building Federation (FFB) and Pôle emploi have signed a partnership agreement aimed at continuing their collaboration in the service of employment and recruitment in the building sector, which remains one of the leading employers in France.

The energy renovation market, thanks to the France Relance plan, in particular opens up significant hiring opportunities throughout the territory and also gives rise to new skills needs.

Since May 2020 and the end of the first period of confinement, the level of job vacancies in the whole of construction has returned to the level of 2019. The sector has to face significant labor needs, particularly in certain trades such as mason, roofer, metalworker and works supervisor.

The signed agreement aims to strengthen the synergistic work of the two partners in the field, thus promoting an essential sharing of knowledge on the evolution of the sector and its needs. By mobilizing their respective operational networks, the FFB and Pôle emploi have the will to mobilize together to act against recruitment difficulties:

By setting up actions to promote professions to attract candidates, such as highlighting the building sector on the pole-emploi.fr site and on social networks from April 19 to 30, 2021;
By making hiring opportunities better known, in particular by organizing specific # TousMobilisés events dedicated to the building sector;
By identifying transferable skills to broaden recruitments to candidates from different sectors, mobilizing, if necessary, adaptation or training mechanisms in order to provide answers to the skills needs in the regions.

Indeed, finding the employees that the artisans and entrepreneurs of the sector need, remains one of our concerns. This is why the signing of this agreement with Pôle emploi is fully in line with the actions carried out in our respective networks and reaffirms our desire to support companies. "

For Jean Bassères, Managing Director of Pôle emploi: “The mobilization of Pôle Emploi agencies has made it possible over the last three months to recruit nearly 58.000 job seekers in the building trades, i.e. more than 1.000 additional hires compared to the same period last year and while the overall number of hires in the sector has decreased slightly. These results already confirm the scope of our partnership at the local level and demonstrate the effectiveness of our joint actions. "
