The energy audit for the sale of homes will come into effect on September 1

The measure, initially scheduled for January 1, should make the energy audit mandatory in the event of the sale of a house classified G or F - called "energy strainers" - after an energy performance diagnosis (DPE).

"The Minister has decided to postpone the entry into force of the measure until September 1, 2022, thus leaving the necessary time for the sector to prepare, guarantee the quality of the performance of energy audits and avoid slowing down home sales" , explained the ministry in a press release.

Sellers of goods diagnosed with F and G will therefore not have to produce an audit for acts signed before this date.

The software and training necessary for professionals who need to perform these audits will be deployed "during the second quarter of 2022", adds the ministry.

The postponement should in particular make it possible to establish consistency between the audit in the event of the sale of energy strainers and the new DPE, the final version of which was not put in place until November, after a few ups and downs linked to anomalies in the calculation method, the ministry explained to AFP last week, when Minister Emmanuelle Wargon's entourage confirmed the postponement revealed by Les Echos, without further details on the new date.

"As of September 1, 2022, buyers of houses or buildings classified F or G will have in addition to their energy performance diagnosis, a precise detail of the work necessary to carry out an efficient renovation in stages and a renovation allowing to directly reach class B, "the ministry said in its press release on Friday.
