Nicolas Bouygues, son of the founder of the Bouygues group, sued his brothers Martin, current chairman of the French construction and telecoms giant, and Olivier, as well as his sister Corinne, in 2020 to request a review of their father's estate. The Paris court dismissed his request in January, according to a document seen by AFP on Thursday, June 5.
In particular, he was seeking the nullity of a settlement concluded in July 2015 concerning the succession between the four children of Francis Bouygues, who died in 1993, under which each "waives any request for a return or reduction in the deceased's estate," according to the judgment handed down on January 23, a copy of which was obtained by AFP.
The reduction action makes it possible to prevent a parent from benefiting one child too much to the detriment of others through non-reportable donations.
Nicolas Bouygues claims in particular that his two brothers received undeclared donations.
In its reasons, the judgment considers that "the authority of res mediated" makes these requests inadmissible and ordered him to pay costs.
According to the online media L'Informé, which revealed the information, Nicolas Bouygues has appealed.
Asked by AFP, Martin Bouygues' family did not comment.
