The cost of rent is a growing concern for many households, especially in large cities where prices are high. In this study, HelloSafe analyzes the share of rent in the average net salary according to the locality, highlighting the departmental disparities and identifying the most expensive for renting an apartment according to its salary in 2023.
In a new study, HelloSafe illustrates the disparities that exist in our territory with regard to the weight that rent represents in the household budget. It seems that :
- Seine-Saint-Denis (57,8%), Paris (57,2%) and Alpes-Maritimes (56,3%) are the departments in which rent weighs the most on household budgets.
- Conversely, Meuse (22,1%), Haute-Saône (22,4%) and Ardennes (23,6%) are those where the share of rent in the average net salary is the lowest in 2023.
- At regional level, Corsica, Île-de-France and PACA are the regions where rent weighs most heavily on household budgets.
- At the local level, Nice, Paris and Aix-en-Provence are the cities where rents weigh the most on people's finances.
