According to the company, this is "the most significant growth in its history."
These acquisitions will allow the group "to consolidate its presence in the construction markets, to diversify its activities and services, to strengthen its technical and innovation expertise, to access new geographical and sectoral sectors and finally to strengthen its independence", detailed the group, which is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year, in a press release.
Roger Martin, a specialist in road works and earthworks, has more than doubled its turnover in 10 years, reaching 410 million euros in 2024 (before acquisition), notably thanks to external growth operations which have enabled it to diversify its activities in networks, railways and energy.
The purchase of Buesa, which has an annual turnover of 140 million euros, will allow the growing group to strengthen its new activities, such as demolition and asbestos removal, and to begin a new diversification into maritime and river works.
"We are taking an important step for our group (...). These initiatives are part of our desire to become a key player in the construction sector," stressed the group's chairman, Vincent Martin, whose great-grandfather founded Roger Martin in 1895.
The Burgundy company has not been affected by the crisis that has hit the construction sector for two years, with a sharp decline in activity of 6,6% in 2024 according to the FFB, because construction only represents 5% of the turnover of the family-run ETI.
Present mainly in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Centre-Val-de-Loire, Roger Martin now employs 2.500 people spread across 74 sites. With the acquisition of Buesa, a public works company based in Béziers (34), the company is establishing itself in the southwest of France.
