The condominium assistance plan has achieved its objectives and the planned operations are largely financed

"In 2020, the plan entered an operational phase with (...) the first concrete and promising results," said the National Housing Agency (Anah) in a statement on Tuesday.

This plan was announced at the end of 2018. It runs over ten years and aims to help the operation, renovation, or even the destruction and then reconstruction, of condominiums deemed to be in a particularly difficult situation.

Now, "51.987 housing units have been renovated or are in the process of being renovated," explains Anah.

It is therefore close to the initial objectives: 700 condominiums, or 60.000 housing units. The government is now even raising this target to 65.000.

The plan will indeed benefit from a little more money than initially decided since, in the year 2021 alone, its means will double to just over 200 million euros.

This additional envelope comes from credits allocated as part of the recovery plan, announced last year, which aims to sustainably pull the economy out of the Covid-19 health crisis.

As such, "the current period we are going through calls for vigilance on housing conditions and on the ability to mobilize co-owners," said Housing Minister Emmanuelle Wargon, cited in the press release, which announces the creation of '' a body responsible for listing the difficulties of condominiums in paying their charges.
