The Cléry-le-Petit cheese production site, which until July 2017 belonged to the Fromageries Bel Group and has since been sold to the American Schreiber Foods, called on REHAU, a specialist in the design and processing of polymers, to equip itself with a polypropylene sanitation system adapted to industrial constraints.
In general, polypropylene (PP) offers multiple advantages over traditional materials, in particular a high resistance to effluents and aggressive soils such as hydrogen sulfide. This light polymer makes the elements portable, that is to say they move manually without the intervention of a crane or lifting equipment, thus providing significant ease, especially during renovations where space may be lacking.
To meet the specific needs of an agri-food site and all the more in a dairy-cheese factory where, for sanitary needs, the production factories are led to use more aggressive chemical effluents, REHAU offered its polymer elements to the renowned already recognized: AWADUKT pipes associated with AWANTGARD manholes as well as NBR seals which have the particularity of lasting resistance to effluents, whether acidic or basic.
Realized in a high quality polypropylene and monolayer, the REHAU sanitation systems are ultra resistant to shocks and punctures. They offer water-absorbing performance at 340 bar while guaranteeing a tightness at 2,5 bar in pressure, -0,8 bar in vacuum and 11mCE. This perfect watertightness of complete REHAU compact PP networks makes it possible to avoid possible pollution of the environment but also the infiltration of groundwater which would unnecessarily overload the treatment plants.
From September 2017 to February 2018, the Cléry-le-Petit site consisted of the installation of 10 AWANTGARD PP DN 1000 manholes made to measure to 1,5m deep, associated with 96 AWADUKT tubes with nominal diameters ranging from 200 to 400 .
For the Meusian factory, which continues to manufacture Cousteron and Port-Salut cheeses from the Bel Group, choosing REHAU certified polypropylene systems without mineral filler means choosing to benefit from sustainable quality, to optimize implementation and operating costs, while contributing to eco-citizen responsibility, since these materials are 100% recyclable.
