In order to co-construct the general program of the edition with the stakeholders and to be as close as possible to current issues, the co-organizers of the event - Bordeaux Métropole, the Urban Community of Dunkirk, Greater Geneva and ADEME , launch as every year, a call for contributions for the development of the workshop program. Thus, communities, scientists and experts in ecological transition, economic actors and associations are invited to submit their workshop projects before November 18, 2022 at 23 p.m.
The European Conference on Energy Transition: the annual highlight for players involved in the energy transition since 1999
Launched in 1999 by the Urban Community of Dunkirk, in partnership with ADEME, then co-organized by Bordeaux Métropole and Greater Geneva, the European conferences on energy transition have become over time the annual meeting of territorial actors. Europeans committed to the energy transition. Organized in the continuity of government highlights, in particular the UN Climate Summits (COP), the Assises are an opportunity for governments and local actors as well as their partners to collectively take ownership of new national issues. and international and, above all, to share successful experiences and concrete solutions to implement the energy transition in the territories. Each year, the event brings together more than 3 delegates for 3500 days around a program of more than 150 events: plenary sessions, workshops, site visits, the village of transition or even the crossroads of trades. Last May, the 2022 edition brought together more than 4500 participants in Greater Geneva on the crucial theme of energy sobriety.
How to contribute to the 2023 program?
The co-organizers call on the actors involved in the energy transition of the territories to testify to their actions, their experiences in terms of air-climate policy, mobility, urban planning, rurality, circular economy, employment, training, new technologies, system management information, social innovations, cooperation or even planning…
The goal? Make the European Conference on Energy Transition a real laboratory for sharing experiences, ideas and finding concrete solutions to collectively succeed in the energy transition of territories.
Thus, elected officials, researchers, technicians, funders, citizens, academics, members of an association, NGO or local energy agency, entrepreneur, engineer, are invited to become players in the energy transition and to come and play a privileged role by highlighting their actions, sharing their projects or debating their ideas.

The jury made up of co-organizers receives nearly 300 contributions each year and can only choose 100. For the 2023 edition, 140 files will be selected, including a new workshop format that is making its debut!
CHALLENGE workshops: Spaces for co-creation
Or how to make others work to solve your problem! Contributors invite delegates to co-construct possible solutions to a question, to a problem that is probably shared in the territories. Duration: 2 hours / Audience: 30 to 35 people.
SPEED DATING workshops: the great fair of initiatives
The workshop format that has the best time/spent efficiency ratio. The contributor who is the bearer of an already operational project and who displays interesting results to share, welcomes around ten participants to his table to present and discuss his project. Duration: 1h30 / Audience: 10 people.
INSPIRATION workshops: moments of experience sharing
In mini plenary format and accompanied by a moderator, the contributor brings together several project pilots who have proven themselves and who fall within the same theme. Duration: 1h15 / Audience: from 20 to 70 people
New format 2023:
PLAYFUL & SERIOUS GAME workshops: sessions to learn and relax
The contributor raises awareness, informs the participants or creates debate on a subject in a fun format that will energize his assembly. Board game, role-playing game, quiz, one-man show, the idea is to surprise delegates on a serious subject! Duration: 1 hour / Audience: 15 to 20 people
