Meilleurtaux broker acquires online insurer Active Assurances

“Until now, we were only present in auto and health insurance as a pure comparator. With this buyout, we will be able to sell, issue and operate contract management in these businesses. It is a new activity for the group ", explained Guillaume Autier.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed but according to the business daily, the valuation of Active Assurances would be greater than 150 million euros.

This is the biggest acquisition for the group, which in 2017 bought the insurer Assurea, and at the beginning of the month the broker specializing in savings Mes-Placements.fr.

"With this transaction, our range of financial services is finally complete", assured Mr. Autier in Les Echos.

Meilleurtaux passed in October under the control of the American investment fund SilverLake, which took a majority stake for an amount between 700 and 800 million euros, according to a source familiar with the matter.

The group then claimed to have achieved a consolidated turnover of more than 200 million euros in 2019, i.e. double its 2016 level.

He also claimed to have recorded in 2019 more than 90 million visits to his websites and "intermediated nearly 10 billion euros in mortgage loans".
