In order to ease traffic and congestion in the villages crossed by the current RN27, it is necessary to link Dieppe to Rouen by the construction of a 7,7 km road which will be delivered by 2021.
As part of this work, Polieco France was chosen to equip the site with FLOWRAIN corrugated tubes in order to channel and transport the rainwater collected on this new road.
A major ecological project
At a time of ecological and energy transition, this project - carried out by a group of public works companies including CHARIER TP (agent), ROGER MARTIN and LHOTELLIER - is part of the virtuous loop of the circular economy.
The earthworks in cuttings (1 m150) necessary for the construction of this 000 km section of National Route are mainly in surplus. To avoid trips by semi-trailers, unusual logistics has been put in place: these materials are removed using a loading platform built specifically to be able to load these materials on trains.
These excess cuttings are thus transported by rail to Rouen and will be used for the Flaubert eco-neighborhood project. Nicolas SMETS, director of works for CHARIER, explains “This project is fully in line with our business logic. We are constantly looking for innovative solutions to develop the territory in a sustainable and responsible manner ... ”
FLOWRAIN: double wall corrugated tubes SN 8 from Polieco France, a concrete example of a circular economy
Thanks to the involvement of the PUM Plastics agency in Dieppe, the Direction des Routes du Nord (DIRNO), which wants to engage in an environmental approach, chose ringed tubes from Polieco France to channel and convey the rainwater collected on this new road.
The tubes used on this site are FLOWRAIN tubes 100% HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) recycled, from selective collection (either: bottles of milk, bottles of shampoo and cans of detergent). Made 100% from recycled polyethylene, they are products with a low carbon footprint and 100% recyclable. Recognized for other advantages and qualities, in particular their resistance, tightness, lightness and longevity (with a 30-year guarantee), FLOWRAIN tubes have won over DIRNO.
“POLIECO does not take advantage of the breach opened by the 50 measures imposed by the FREC (Circular Economy Roadmap) but simply highlights its know-how on a range of products mastered in terms of raw material and process. Since 2004, POLIECO has embarked on an “eco-design” approach and is already perfectly in the “circular economy” by putting on the market a range of corrugated tubes composed solely of recycled hollow bodies (HDPE bottles) from selective collection. POLIECO is a signatory to the “100% recycled plastics coalition” with a record 98% MPR rate on a tonnage of 7 tonnes at the Feillens site alone, for the range of corrugated tubes ” underlines Nicolas VOLLERIN, Product Technical Manager at Polieco France.
