On March 8, a new version of the professional title of Menuisier Aluminum was published in the Official Journal. Created in 2008, it now integrates consideration of the energy and environmental obligations of the building sector, the evolution of professions around digital and motorization, as well as the new rules of prevention, health and safety at work.
Supported by the AFPA and the SNFA, this new professional title is thus perfectly adapted to the realities and the environment of the profession of Aluminum Joiner.
The new expanded edition of the professional title MALU (Aluminum Joiner) will take effect on July 29, 2023.
Its repository incorporates several new features, including a substantial section on environmental topics: RE2020, development of circular economy logic, reuse, removal and recycling of joinery... The other new feature concerns the modernization of the profession: future candidates will be trained the use of digital positioning machines during the manufacture of joinery, as well as the installation and programming on site of motorized systems for windows, shutters, gates.
This professional title, level 3, is built around two blocks of skills:
- Manufacture of aluminum joinery works.
- Installation and equipment of aluminum joinery and exterior closures.
The National Education diplomas which also include these skills are: the Aluminum-Glass Joiner CAP and the Aluminum-Glass Joiner BP.

It was essential for the Aluminum Joinery sector to keep and renew this professional title which is the first level of training for anyone wishing to convert to our trades! It is, for the industry, a first response to the crying need to recruit qualified aluminum carpenters. This updating work, supported by the AFPA Toulouse and the SNFA is valid for the next 5 years. It has enabled players in Aluminum Joinery to redefine the expectations of the sector, in terms of know-how and interpersonal skills, which the future professional must acquire today! The construction industry has experienced regulatory upheavals over the past two years with, in particular, the implementation of RE2020 and the REP PMCB sector (Extended Producer Responsibility for Building Construction Products and Materials). In this context, it was a great opportunity for us to rework this professional title and quickly integrate these new requirements into its reference framework. »
