To maintain this growth, Groupement Actibaie takes stock of the major projects for 2022: jobs, supply of raw materials and electronic components, circular economy and RE2020.
2021, a record year
For the sectors represented by Groupement Actibaie, 2021 will have been a year of growth, higher than the average for the building sector, which, despite a 12,2% increase in activity, has not yet regained its pre-crisis level.
For Hervé Lamy, general delegate of Groupement Actibaie: “The order books are full, despite the economic problems, which have nevertheless increased prices and delivery times. This acceleration is a direct consequence of the explosion in demand for renovation: following successive confinements, the French wanted to improve their habitat. A dynamic that can also be found in new construction. »
Attracting new talent through training
For the various sectors, the increase in activity has been accompanied by recruitment in 2021: an exercise which is still proving problematic in certain professions. In 2022, the FFB projects needs for 25 positions. To address this lack of manpower, the Groupement Actibaie invests in initial and continuing training, which is aimed at everyone, especially people in retraining or those who are out of work. This is the case with the Blinds and shutters installers training course, launched last January. for Integration and Qualification). This type of training allows partner companies to train new profiles in their methods on a work-study basis, with the key to being hired for the work-study student. “says the general delegate. At the end of the training, the trainees pass an exam to obtain a CQP "Installer of blinds and shutters".
Limit price increases and lead times
Thanks to the dynamic of the individual, the FFB foresees an increase in new housing, sales permits having increased between 2019 and 2021. Indeed, 398 housing units will be started in 000. A prospect which delights the Groupement Actibaie. “RE2022, which also includes the installation of solar protection, will greatly boost new construction activity for the awnings and shutters sectors. »
However, for this, professionals will have to deal with the rise in the price of raw materials, which continues with no prospect of change.
For Yannick Michon, president of Groupement Actibaie: “Manufacturers have already had to pass on the price increase to their prices, on average by +10% over the 2021 financial year, thus impacting the entire chain, from the manufacturer to the installer. The end customer is obliged to absorb part of this increase. »
Another issue is the shortage of semiconductors, used in the motorization and automation of blinds and shutters. For Pascal Cros, vice-president of Groupement Actibaie and representative of the Volet trades, the problem is all the more critical because the market is mainly owned by one player. “With SOMFY having supply difficulties, the entire value chain is being impacted. In new construction, motorization is almost systematic: it is therefore difficult, without any visibility on this exit from the crisis, to know what impact this will have in the long term. »
Circular economy and REP Building
By 2050, the National Low Carbon Strategy (SNBC) provides for the almost complete decarbonisation of the building sector, which alone represents 30% of national annual emissions. Indeed, the sector produces 42 million tonnes of waste every year, equivalent to the annual quantity produced by households. In order to develop the collection and recovery of this waste generated during building deconstruction and renovation operations, extended producer responsibility (EPR) for construction products and materials in the building sector will come into force no later than 1 January 2023.
For Hervé Lamy, general delegate of Groupement Actibaie: “One of the major issues for Groupement Actibaie this year will be to work jointly with eco-organizations and other unions to define the eco-contribution scale. The difficulty will be to simplify the calculations as much as possible while taking into account the issues related to each material. This scale should be finalized before the end of the year. »
Embark professionals in a more virtuous sector
To accompany the entry into force of RE2020 and the REP of construction products, the Groupement Actibaie has drawn up a Charter of Commitments for the Preservation of the Environment (CEPE), intended for its members, in order to adopt a more ecological approach. To date, 46 companies are signatories and have thus committed to changing their practices at all levels: product design, supply, production process and product recyclability. “We hope that these best practices will eventually be shared and implemented by all of our industrial members. concludes President Yannick Michon.
