The Acorus Group announces 20% growth in 2022 and the acquisition of four building companies

A very buoyant market context

After a record month of December, the Acorus group ends 2022 with a turnover of 240 million euros, organic growth of 10% compared to 2021 (220 M€).

All of the group's customer segments will contribute to strong growth in 2022. Activity with social landlords is driven by strong demand for eco-renovation (global energy renovations and reuse in particular). The hotel and health sectors have enormous needs to modernize their establishments after two years of slump in the hotel industry and overheating in health. Demand from tertiary buildings is stimulated by the prospect of the entry into force of the tertiary decree. The condominiums are also resolutely committing to massive investment plans, after two years of virtual freezing of votes at general meetings, with energy prices that heavily penalize the co-owners, and with the obligation to change the energy labels for accommodation, under penalty of no longer being able to rent them.

In this very buoyant market context, Acorus is supplementing its global eco-renovation offer by acquiring four companies at the end of December with a total turnover of €25 million. They thus allow the group to post a total growth in 2022 of 20% (half organic and half by acquisition) by ending the year with 265 M€ of consolidated turnover.

New establishments in France

Through these acquisitions, Acorus is establishing itself in two new cities in France. After Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon and Nantes, Acorus will now be present in Orléans (with JF Metz and Cloisol) and Rennes (with Les Menuiserie Rennaise). In all these territories, Acorus ultimately aims to offer all the professions of its global eco-renovation offer.

New professions complete the global renovation offer

These targeted acquisitions also aim to add new businesses to Acorus' global offer. Exterior joinery in Rennes, removable partitions in Orléans and energy performance contracts in electrical engineering in Ile-de-France (with Moncelec) are therefore all new professions that enrich the group's know-how in terms of renovation.

In 2023, thanks to its acquisitions and still very strong organic growth, driven by a historically high order book, the Acorus group should generate nearly €300 million in sales. The 2023 activity should also benefit from the strong development of Acorus' digital offers: Nexxio to simplify the management and monitoring of maintenance interventions, Acofor for individual water and energy metering and Lowit for accompaniment of the tertiary decree.

More and more “zero carbon” projects

Even more than in 2022, Acorus' activity in 2023 will be low-carbon and low-carbon! The order book announces many projects with a strong impact on the reduction of carbon emissions from buildings after renovation. The reuse of materials is entering a phase of rapid acceleration, driven by very strong demand from social housing players and large real estate companies. Acorus' acquisition of a stake in Cycle'Up, carried out in April 2022, should therefore contribute to responding to the acceleration of the circular economy in the renovation of buildings.

1.000 hires planned for 2023

Already with 1.600 employees, Acorus plans to recruit 1.000 new talents in 2023, to support its growth and meet the daily demands of customers (20.000 housing renovations per year / 180.000 on-site interventions each year). Acorus is looking for many technician profiles: plumbers, heating engineers, electricians, painters, tilers, masons, carpenters, locksmiths… and also sales people, sales assistants, administrative assistants… These positions will be available throughout the territory, on permanent contracts.
