EDF CEO wants to launch a "deep" reorganization for more efficient nuclear power

At the helm of the group since the end of November, CEO Luc Rémont spoke at an internal management meeting with the "TOP300" of EDF executives, according to this source.

Concretely, the CEO's project aims to redraw the current nuclear management, by specializing it with trades concentrated on their know-how, including engineering and exploitation (production), indicated this source confirming information from the Reuters agency.

Because the group, now 100% renationalized since June 8, must face many industrial and financial challenges as it ended the year 2022 with a record net debt of 64,5 billion euros and a production nuclear at a historically low level.

The State, which has once again become the company's sole shareholder, set it as priorities last year to restore nuclear production, to straighten out its finances and to better control the costs and deadlines of construction projects for the 6 new EPR2 reactors, wanted by President Emmanuel Macron.
