The 10 departments with the most G+ housing in France

Last June, Hello Watt had precisely led this study.

Since January 1, 2023, the worst so-called G+ thermal sieves, which have an estimated consumption of more than 450 kWh/m2/year, can no longer be rented.

Hello Watt today reveals a new study which makes it possible to target areas where the rental market could be in tension and where energy renovation efforts must be prioritized: The ranking of departments with the most G+ housing

G+ housing mainly located in Ile-de-France

Among the 126.000 G+ dwellings listed in the Ademe database analyzed by Hello Watt, more than 14.000 are in Paris. Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Maritime, Val-de-Marne and Seine-Saint-Denis are all in the top 7. Note that Nord (3rd place) and Haute-Savoie (6th place) are also part of the departments with a significant number of G+ dwellings.

Lozère, Cantal and Creuse have a high concentration of G+

If we look at the proportion of G+ dwellings in relation to the number of dwellings having carried out an ECD in the department, we see that it is Lozère which has the highest concentration, followed by Cantal and Creuse. Paris then only comes in 5th position.

What does a G+ housing look like?

The average size of a G+ home is 56 m2. By way of comparison, in France, the average surface area of ​​a dwelling is 75 m2. The G+ are therefore relatively small housings.

They are also mostly apartments (for 58% of them).

Interesting fact: 77% of them devote at least ¾ of their energy consumption to heating. In France, only 36% of homes devote as much energy to heating. This proves that it is on this item - the heating - that it is necessary to act in priority.

Other changes to report on April 1

In addition to the obligation to carry out an energy audit when selling homes classified F or G, two other changes will take place on Saturday:
