This is also the case for the management of the automobile fleet, 240 vehicles including 150 utility vehicles, which have been connected to the SuiviDeFlotte telematics platform for several months.
A culture of digitalization
Within the Dubois group, we find real enthusiasm for using the SuiviDeFlotte tool, which is not just the prerogative of general management but of all staff, strongly interested in growth and profitability. of a group which practices both employee shareholding, remuneration levels more generous than the sector average, and internal promotion. Within the Dubois group, we are therefore all convinced that digitalization is essential to manage the activity.
For Benoit Chauvin, general director: “After the ERP implemented in 2020, we deployed a battery of field applications, accessible on smartphones, which are used on a daily basis by our carpenters, fitters, fitters, welders, team leaders, work supervisors, business people, graphic designers, designers, draftsmen, quantity surveyors, support functions, etc. In particular applications related to human resources management, business applications... And therefore, colleagues were already naturally ready to exploit the advantages of the SuiviDeFlotte mobile application. Like the electronic glove box which gives access to all the vehicle's documents, it is a security and considerable time saving which is appreciated! [1] »
Telematics, a key factor for decarbonization
In 2023, there will be a reunion for the company SuiviDeFlotte and the Dubois group which had used the publisher's geolocation solution a few years ago. In the meantime, both structures have evolved and the SuiviDeFlotte tool has transformed into a sort of ERP which immediately appeals to decision-makers. At the end of 2022, the telematics services platform is therefore making a comeback, following a call for tenders where it stands out from the competition by demonstrating the extent of its functions.
For Benoit Chauvin, the general director of the Dubois group, who relies on a fleet manager, Christelle Bertrand: “The platform is both surprisingly ergonomic for operation, and surprisingly rich in functionality. This opened up the possibilities for us, on everything that we would be able to measure and optimize! »
Better knowledge of uses and costs
Already, all utility vehicles, Boxer or Master diesel 110/120 horsepower, which are owned by the company (leasing), are connected to the platform, i.e. more than 60% of the group's fleet.
“The SuiviDeFlotte platform gives a global vision of the state of the fleet and its use. We have a lot of maintenance and repair contracts, tracking them precisely is added value and saves time for us,” he explains.
Enable the rapid and efficient start of the energy transition
In a group that aims to be exemplary from a CSR point of view, the transition to greener mobility is voluntary. However, the regulatory framework and the climate emergency impose a rhythm and obligations. Everything can and must be overhauled.
For Benoit Chauvin: “All the SuiviDeFlotte reports will help us assess the possibility of changing the engines during the renewal of the fleet, and more broadly to study the group's room for maneuver for low-carbon mobility throughout the cycle of activity and travel of people,” explains Benoit Chauvin. “Better knowledge of uses will make it possible to act rationally, by measuring progress and deviations from plans. »
Today, in the Dubois group, company and utility vehicles are allocated to each employee. Spending part of the park on car sharing is one of the possible developments.
For Philippe Catelain, HR Director of the Dubois group: “In the desire to reduce its carbon footprint and meet the expectations of employees in terms of QVTC, the group has moved to a 4-day week every other Friday per month, i.e. a fleet of 2 utility vehicles that do not run, with a savings generated of €150 reinvested in the electrification of our fleet. »
Personalized reports (by geographical area, team, group of vehicles, etc.), analysis indicators, calculations of the CO2 footprint of each vehicle in the SuiviDeFlotte interface, constitute a battery of tools available. Ecodriving reports are an example of fine measurement of the environmental impact of vehicles. They will make it possible to objectify the results through the reduction of claims and energy bills.
For Benoit Chauvin: “The LOM [2] is a first subject. The renewal of vehicles is now regulated; we must achieve a percentage of green vehicles within a period of time dictated to us. Another regulatory aspect which weighs on the management of the operation is the implementation and extension of traffic restriction zones (Low Emission Zones). »
Thus, the Dubois group already carries out 25% of the activity in the Paris region and within its walls. Going electric perhaps, but which vehicle should you target without generating a problematic operational impact? Where to recharge the battery when the public network of terminals is under capacity and the employees on site live in apartments and therefore cannot recharge the vehicles in their garage, in most cases... These are some of the data of the problem which today presents itself to a management which must combine a strategic vision and immediate operational constraints.
[1] Note that the smartphone was already previously used in the sphere of mobility: driving personnel are asked to carry out an inventory of their professional vehicle every six months. With their smartphone, everyone records a video inventory of key points in the passenger compartment and bodywork, sent and archived in the vehicle file.
[2] The LOM aims to initiate an in-depth transformation of mobility policies. It therefore sets the obligations with which public bodies, private actors and individuals must comply. In this context, companies were asked to renew their fleets according to a very specific timetable to achieve: 10% clean vehicles in 2022, 20% in 2024, 35% in 2027, and finally, 50% in 2030.
