Over the years, Sto has been able to make the most of its expertise as an industrial ITE to develop StoVentec, a complete range of solutions for ventilated facades in new buildings and renovations, intended for residential buildings, offices, health or hotels.
Enamelled glass, glass mosaic, terracotta plate or even natural stone… not to mention the coating!
Sto has the widest range of finishes on the market, offering contractors an almost endless choice of aesthetic solutions to meet all their expectations, including for timber frame (COB) and cross-laminated timber constructions. (CLT).
Aesthetic but also efficient, the cladding solutions offered by Sto are all under technical advice. They provide a response to issues related to fire and seismic risks.
And to support its customers in their approach and thus facilitate their work, Sto deploys a complete and unique range of services.
Ventilated facade systems, Kesako?
In the same way as an ETI under plaster, ventilated facade systems represent another way of insulating from the outside. In addition to the mechanical fixings and the different fields of use, the other difference comes from the presence of an air space between the insulation and the facing. Unlike cladding and cladding systems, exterior insulation systems under ventilated cladding provide summer and winter comfort. The air space solves condensation problems: it limits the thermal amplitude of the load-bearing wall and prevents the persistence of humidity in the heart of the systems, thus preventing premature degradation. In other words, the building benefits from excellent thermo-hygrometric behavior.
Long-lasting and highly aesthetic solutions, StoVentec ventilated facade systems effectively treat thermal bridges and considerably reduce maintenance. They thus combine energy efficiency and the economic performance of new or pre-existing facades.
One of the major advantages of the ventilated facade is to be able to separate the facing from the technical functions of the facade, making it possible to offer more aesthetic possibilities with the panels.
Without visible fixings, StoVentec systems consist of a steel, aluminum or wood supporting structure, mineral wool insulation (glass wool or rock wool), an expanded glass ball cladding panel with epoxy binder and a choice of finishing coating: plaster, bonded coatings, enameled glass. They are suitable for substrates with flatness defects or which cannot accommodate elements to be glued - therefore a solution to traditional renovation problems.
In addition to its use in EIT, StoVentec systems can be used without insulation for aesthetic purposes.
It is the aesthetic and thermal performances desired by the contracting authorities which will determine the choice between an ETI under plaster or a cladding.
“The building world is in constant technical and regulatory evolution. It is essential for an industrialist to be able to follow this rhythm. As a building facade player, Sto continually improves its products to achieve this. Through our ventilated facade offer, we are also concerned with adding a strong aesthetic dimension. Indeed, we would like to offer clients and project managers solutions allowing them to enhance their buildings or be able to express themselves through their architectural designs ”
