Sto makes the difference with a new 30% lighter firestop tape

Reducing arduousness on construction sites and improving installation comfort, these are Sto's objectives with its new Sto-Speedlamelle Typ II Plus stone wool fire-resistant strip, integrated into the ITE systems with StoTherm Vario polystyrene insulation and StoTherm Brick PSE.

As a reminder, it is mandatory to place mineral rock wool overlapping strips between each floor and at the start of ETICS when expanded polystyrene is placed on buildings of the 3rd family (up to 28 m) and ERP of the 1st group. from R + 2.

Comfortable installation and increased productivity

Sto is sensitive to the well-being of its customers, and their comfort and safety are among its priorities. For this, the facade specialist - thermal insulation from the outside (ITE), technical products and facade embellishment, ventilated cladding - has developed Sto-Speedlamelle Typ II Plus.

30% lighter than a traditional firestop strip, it makes handling on the job site easier and thus reduces drudgery.

And to save time and improve the adhesion of the base coat, it is pre-impregnated with a primer on both sides.

This new fire-resistant strip is applied exclusively in ITE systems based on powdered underlayment (StoTherm Vario) and Sto polystyrene with Innopearls technology (gray PSE Sto-Panel Top31 and white PSE PS15), for thicknesses of 100 at 200 mm.

The method of laying this fire-resistant strip is in accordance with CPT 3714:

full bonding using a hydraulic adhesive mortar from Sto,
Mechanical fastening to the support with a minimum of two anchors per strip and a maximum center distance of 500 mm. These are installed at the heart or flush with the rock wool strip;
an additional reinforcement projecting 150 mm on either side of the fire-resistant strip on the EPS is also to be applied.

A Sto exclusivity validated by a LEPIR test

"Exclusive to Sto, Sto-Speedlamelle Type II has been validated by a LEPIR test as part of our StoTherm Vario and StoTherm Brick PSE system", specifies Julien Velar, ITE product manager at Sto.

It has an A1 fire classification and complies with standard EN 13501-1.Its thermal conductivity λD is 0.039 W / (m * K)

This new firewall is more specifically aimed at collective residential buildings of the 3rd family and buildings open to the public (ERP) of the 1st group subject to IT 249.
