There is excitement on the first Empreinte project in the Echats III eco-district, in Beaucouzé (49). June 21 marked the start of the 3D printing wall elevation phase for Empreinte using the technology developed by Batiprint 3D.
A key step for the Empreinte collective which, at the initiative of the ERB company, brings together more than 20 companies which together explore new ways of building to improve environmental and human performance, without losing efficiency.
To allow as many people as possible to follow and understand this extraordinary project, Empreinte has set up, in addition to a schedule of visits, a video space, to follow the different steps in pictures.
A first project to explore the habitat of tomorrow
Faced with the challenges of construction, ERB, General Building Contractor of Chalonnes-sur-Loire (49) brought together a collective of around twenty companies (builders, construction start-ups, manufacturers, but also architects, landscapers, studies…) to explore the habitat of tomorrow today.
This project, called Empreinte, aims to explore new ways of building, with the objectives that they make it possible to:
Reduce the impact on the environment, thanks to new materials,
Facilitate and secure work on sites thanks to new construction methods such as additive construction (3D printing) for example.
Include use and inhabitant at each stage of design and construction
Building on the strength of collective innovation
Preparatory work for the first Empreinte project began a few days ago in the Echats III eco-district in Beaucouzé (49). The elevation of the walls in 3D printing began on June 21, 2021.
A site open to all
To help people discover the Empreinte concept, a visit area is set up on the site. A terrace overlooking the site will allow you to observe the construction as closely as possible without hindering the work of men and machines on site.
More than 200 time slots are planned. This represents several thousand people who will come and discover this new approach to construction live.
The day-to-day worksite
Sharing and feedback are at the heart of the Empreinte concept. To help monitor this extraordinary project, Empreinte has launched his Youtube channel to find recordings, interviews, testimonials and other exclusive content to watch the house rise from the ground, as if we were there.
“With this demonstrator, we would like to emphasize that another way of building is possible. Knowledge and innovations allow us today to leave a footprint of construction less impacting for the environment and people, more virtuous. If the Empreinte worksite, from Beaucouzé or from a screen, can show all the curious that it is possible and that it is enough to get started, the objective has been reached ” concludes Thomas Grenouilleau, Chairman and Partner of ERB, bearer of the Empreinte concept.
