Start of sending energy vouchers for the year 2022 to the 5,8 million beneficiary households

The campaign to send energy vouchers for the year 2022 began on Wednesday March 30 for the 5.773.044 eligible households. The energy check allows eligible households on low incomes to pay part of the energy bills for their home or their energy renovation work.

It is sent automatically by post to eligible persons according to their income and the composition of their household. No action is necessary to receive it, you just need to have declared your income the previous year. The average amount of this check is 150 euros on average, and can reach 277 euros depending on the income and composition of the household in question.

This year, the energy checks will be sent to the recipients' homes between March 30 and April 30, 2022. The schedule for sending checks by department is available here, the time between sending and receiving generally being between 2 and 4 days.

If they are still beneficiaries, households who have already chosen to automatically allocate their energy check to their electricity or natural gas supplier will receive confirmation of the transmission of their 2022 check between April 11 and 22, 2022.

In addition, a “beneficiary” space will be available from the beginning of April on the website dedicated to energy vouchers. It will allow beneficiaries to better manage their procedures related to the energy voucher:

Use the energy check online;
Manage associated protections (verification of protected contracts, activation, modification);
Manage pre-assignment (situation summary, creation, modification, deletion);
Follow the status of his energy check and his claims;
Report a loss or theft.

What can beneficiary households pay with their energy check?

Bills from suppliers of electricity, natural gas, other heating fuels (wood, heating oil, etc.);
The heating costs included in the fees for housing-homes approved for personalized housing assistance (APL), as well as in EHPADs, EHPAs, independent residences, establishments and long-term care units (USLD) ;
Certain expenses related to the energy renovation of housing, carried out by a certified professional "Recognized guarantor of the environment" (RGE).

All professionals in the sectors concerned are required to accept the energy check.

To use it, beneficiaries can present it to their energy suppliers online or by mail, until March 31, 2023.
