Spurgin inaugurates a new 13 million euro factory dedicated to wood concrete prefabrication

Revolutionizing construction methods since its creation in 1978, SPURGIN has established itself today as the French leader in Prémur, notably with ranges of low-carbon and low-carbon insulated Prémurs.

The manufacturer, which has a network of 8 factories across France, is further expanding its industrial strength with the inauguration of a new production unit based in Mignières (28).

The result of an investment of 13 million euros, this new SPURGIN factory is specifically dedicated to the production of the latest SPURGIN reference for wooden concrete facade walls over a covered area of 5.000 m².

It should be noted that this new unit ideally complements its sister factory, located on the same site, which specializes in the production of concrete and low-carbon concrete double walls, Isopré and stamped Isopré. Remember that this factory, established in 2011, has a production capacity of 500.000 m² per year, all references combined, with 120 employees for 10.000 m² surface area covered.

With its cutting-edge industrial equipment and its integrated R&D laboratory which will employ a team of three full-time people from September (a director and two laboratory assistants), this new SPURGIN site will boast an annual capacity of some 300.000 m² wall (with a gradual increase in load to operate in 3 x 8 hours).

Note that 15 employees are already specifically dedicated to this new production of wood concrete and, ultimately, there will be around forty (including around twenty job creations).

This new SPURGIN site will also be equipped, like the industrialist's other production units, with a photovoltaic power plant, boasting an annual production capacity of 500 MWh. A virtuous investment which also allows it energy independence.

A new unit which will allow SPURGIN to supply the Ile-de-France region with its new solution of load-bearing walls in wood concrete (up to R+3) which combines the advantages: thermal phase shift up to 17 h, resistance on fire for up to 2 hours, excellent carbon values and sound reduction…. An ideal and complete response to the requirements of RE 2020 for construction (individual houses, ERP, industrial buildings) but also for elevation.
