Somfy signs an agreement with Elcia to support it in its European development

SOMFY, a world player in the automation of home and building openings and closings and a pioneer in the connected home, and ELCIA, a French player in solutions and software for the Joinery, Blinds and Closing sector, announce that they have signed an agreement on March 30, 2022 for an acquisition by SOMFY of 6,33% of the capital of ELCIA.

Sharing common values of innovation and customer service, SOMFY and ELCIA wish to set up this partnership to meet the dual objective of developing the ELCIA group in Europe and supporting joinery installers in the sale of connected solutions.

Founded in 1999, ELCIA brings together 210 employees in France, and has more than 24 users. In particular, the Group markets ProDevis, the No. 000 costing and commercial management software for joinery, awning and closing installers, a solution that optimizes exchanges between manufacturers, their sales networks and individual customers.

Support for ELCIA's growth

This operation will make it possible to support the growth ambition of the ELCIA group in Europe, and in particular in Germany. The SOMFY group has developed a solid network of experts there since the creation of its subsidiary in 1969, and knows the challenges of this market, the largest in Europe in the field of joinery.

Development of the digital tools necessary for the installation and distribution networks

This partnership will also make it possible to develop innovative digital tools for joinery installation and distribution networks. ELCIA's offer was built to connect the world of carpentry and respond to changing needs and uses in the sector. On the strength of this expertise, ELCIA will enrich its solutions to broaden its offer around connected joinery, thus responding to the major trends in the development of housing and the connected home.

This collaboration aims in particular to provide in-depth support for the entire value chain in its digitization and to allow the continued structuring of networks of installers to guarantee a high quality service to consumers.

Subject to the lifting of the usual conditions precedent, this equity investment will be effective on April 14, 2022. SOMFY will finance this equity investment through its existing cash.
