With the launch of Sofinco Eco-Transitions, it is no longer just a question of financing but of proposing a global offer integrating a bouquet of services which aims to simplify and streamline energy renovation projects for individuals.
Sofinco's ambition to become a leader in energy renovation in France is part of the collective mobilization of the Crédit Agricole group for its Societal Project, and in particular the commitment to support its customers in their energy transition.
Unlocking housing renovation in France
The Climate and Resilience Act, which should enable France to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030, compared to 1990, is reflected in the implementation of several measures aimed at reducing the number of thermal sieves (housing classified E, F and G). The stakes are high and the objectives set by the Government are ambitious: increase the number of renovations to reach a rate of 900.000 efficient renovations per year, including 200.000 comprehensive renovations by 2030.
Housing renovation is therefore a priority and the French must be encouraged to take the plunge, even though there are many obstacles: poor knowledge of the aid available and complexity in obtaining it, instability of public policies, financing difficulties, low number of RGE-certified craftsmen, etc.
Given the scale of the issue, Sofinco, as a financier, wants to play a key role in unlocking thousands of renovation projects in France. It aims to finance more than 2027 billion euros of work by 3, or around 300.000 renovations in 4 years.
This will not happen without the housing professionals present in all territories. Sofinco intends to help them focus on their core business and achieve the signing of renovation site quotes more quickly.
Sofinco Eco-Transitions: a global approach combining financing, services and advice for all housing professionals and their clients
Sofinco will gradually build a catalogue of financing solutions coupled with a bouquet of services to bring more simplicity, fluidity and transparency to each renovation project.
A first financing solution will be launched at the beginning of November. This is an Intermediated bank loan offer that will allow new partners who do not have IOB (Intermediaries in banking operations) status to offer a financing solution to their customers. The latter will be able to manage their financing request independently via a full digital process developed by Sofinco and will receive immediate approval in principle.
This new financing solution is the starting point of the global Sofinco Eco-Transitions offer which will be enhanced with a bouquet of services, insurance, advice, etc. during the year 2025.
This Sofinco Eco-Transitions approach will be supported by more than 130 Sofinco employees dedicated to energy renovation and mobilized throughout France.
For Franck ONIGA, Managing Director of Sofinco: "Even though the government aid system supports the transition of the French real estate portfolio, many renovation projects are on hold. Sofinco aims to create the trigger, to support craftsmen in particular so that they can concentrate on their core business while facilitating the realization of their clients' renovation projects."
