SimonsVoss at the service of the seniors of the Urban Senior Group

Comfort, safety and quality of life are the key words that punctuate the life of Urban Senior accommodation. The goal is to optimize the security of residents and avoid the hassle of managing mechanical keys. Indeed, when people get older and start to have health concerns, opting for the door opening via a badge is the ideal solution. Seduced by the design, the simplicity of the installation and the management of SimonsVoss digital closures, the choice of its deployment within Urban Senior was obvious after a test phase started in 2018.

After said test phase, the Group finally fitted two buildings with the SmartHandle 3062 crutch plate: “Le Clos Saint Jeannais” in Saint-Jean de Bournay, which has 52 apartments, and “Le Clos Stéphanois” in Saint-Étienne-de -Saint-Geoirs, under construction, which will include 57 apartments. To date, more than 110 apartments have a SimonsVoss access control solution.

An extraordinary ease of action

Designed for the specific needs of the hospital sector or healthcare establishments in general, the SmartHandle 3062 SnapIn electronic lock features a drilling-free mounting to meet the fire and thermal certification of the door. The kickstand works with the batteries which show a long autonomy before their change - about 10 years in standby mode. Urban Senior has opted for an offline mode of its system, but in the future will be able to easily evolve into an online network without changing products.

Access management is centralized from Locking System Management (LSM) software. Badges can be configured at any time: in the event of loss, forgetting, during family visits, etc. by the manager.

If necessary, it is possible to assign specific times to families for visits, but in most cases it is only residents who have access to their apartments.
