This software suite, presented today, aims to accelerate digital transformation and value creation in the sectors of industry, transport, networks and buildings.
- Building X is a completely new generation of offerings based on the Siemens Xcelerator open business platform.
- Modular and scalable software suite dedicated to infrastructure management to improve building performance and manage interactions with its environment while working towards carbon neutrality.
- Simplified development of solutions in collaboration with partners in order to meet the challenges related to the digitalization of buildings more quickly.
The Building X suite is designed to provide a single source of information and repository ("single source of truth") to the various real estate stakeholders (users, investors, real estate professionals and building managers) to enable them to address changes towards a smarter building, improve performance, manage interactions with new activities such as electric mobility and meet decarbonization objectives. Stakeholders are now able to digitize and leverage building data from multiple sources, trades and systems on a single platform: Building X. Agnostic connection capabilities and application programming interfaces Open (APIs) ensure a seamless user experience and enable integration with existing software and ecosystems, including third-party applications. The software suite offers modular, AI-powered applications as well as integrated cybersecurity options. Thanks to its open architecture and cloud technology, it also facilitates the co-development of solutions with various customers and partners in order to better understand the needs of platform users. This makes digital transformation easier, faster and scalable.
For Edwin Marcellin Gros Director of Technologies, Innovations and Digital at Siemens Smart Infrastructure France: “Building X will be deployed in France early next year, we will be able to connect all the data generated by smart building systems into a single data pool, so that smart buildings can evolve faster and bring us closer to our goal of self-sufficiency and carbon neutrality. Building X delivers measurable results in terms of efficiency, performance, and user experience. The proposed solution will improve the way we work and live in buildings. »
The Building X suite currently includes a whole range of applications and digital services tailor-made for different players in the sector, brought together on the platform equipped with artificial intelligence functions. It opens up new prospects for digitalisation, management and optimization of the operation of buildings, thus creating added value both for existing sites and for new developments or real estate projects. The applications cover the main aspects of building management, including energy, security and operations, and are supported by robust analysis functions. These applications provide a smooth user experience by intelligently combining data to create added value for customers.
A true digital twin of operational building management
At the convergence between the real world and the virtual world, Building X combines data from different sources to create a digital twin capable of ensuring the operational management of sites. Thanks to virtual representation, real estate operators are able to solve problems faster. Users exploit the transparency of Building X to make buildings more sustainable, improve their performance and optimize the user experience. Ultimately, customers improve their operational performance and bottom line.
A growing number of apps
Building X applications are modular in design, based on the specifications defined by the different user groups in order to provide the right information to the right people. These users have the option of co-authoring applications or selecting from a wide range of ready-to-use applications. They thus benefit from a single console concept ("single pane of glass"), oriented user and workflow, while retaining the ability to customize dashboards and data views according to their needs. Currently, the offer has four applications. More will be added over time.
- The Energy Manager monitors the energy consumption, costs and CO2 emissions of one or more buildings (building stock). If necessary, it enables early corrective action to be taken. It generates predictions based on historical data and helps users achieve their sustainability goals by creating carbon neutral buildings.
- The Operations Manager manages and monitors building equipment and applications in real time. It is able to monitor multiple sites from a single location, speed up responsiveness in the event of a problem and reduce service interruptions. Users benefit from greater operational continuity and better response time.
- The Security Manager operates and maintains the security system using unified and automated workflows. Thus, daily security tasks and incidents across all systems are managed centrally.
- The 360° Viewer application offers a virtual 360D representation of a site, and offers a navigation function to gather information on the topology and installation of equipment.
SaaS and improving results with services for buildings
Building X is offered as a SaaS offer (software as a service), on subscription. Thanks to this model, the various stakeholders have access to the software at all times and benefit from the latest functionalities. Updates respond to their changing needs throughout the building's life cycle.
Siemens Xcelerator Building Services helps guide customers through a journey to achieve specific goals.
This model combines Siemens technologies with the technical skills of its experts in building automation and digitization of buildings. The program is tailored to the customer's needs so as to set predefined objectives: reduction of operating and energy costs, optimization of the availability and productivity of the installations, compliance with regulatory requirements, or even improvement of the experience. user.
Siemens Xcelerator is an open, digital business platform for accelerating digital transformation through a portfolio of hardware and software solutions suitable for the Internet of Things (IoT), an ever-expanding partner ecosystem and an ever-evolving marketplace .
