Sébastien Alègre elected President of Gifam

Elected by the members of the Board of Directors on June 4, he succeeds Véronique Denise, President of Gifam since 2021, whose term had come to an end.

For Sébastien Alègre: “I am deeply honored to assume the presidency of GIFAM, the leading organization that unites the players in the electrical, heating, and cooling, large and small household appliance sectors in France. Our industry is at the heart of the daily lives of the French. It equips homes, supports new uses, fosters innovation, contributes to economic activity, and plays a concrete role in the transition towards more sustainable, repairable, and responsible products. In a period marked by significant environmental, economic, technological, and regulatory transformations, GIFAM plays a vital role: to provide a clear, constructive, and ambitious voice for our industry, to defend the conditions for its competitiveness, and to accelerate solutions that benefit consumers.”

For Sébastien Alègre, the ambition is simple: “To unite, to amplify, and to move forward. To unite all the stakeholders in our ecosystem. To amplify the realities, expertise, and commitments of our industry. To advance the issues that matter: innovation, sustainability, repairability, competitiveness, value creation, and consumer confidence. Finally, I would like to extend my warmest thanks to Véronique Denise, whose commitment, consistency, and ability to bring people together have been hallmarks of her five years as president. I intend to continue her work, with the aim of ushering in a new chapter for GIFAM, serving the entire industry.”

I am very pleased to hand over the reins to Sébastien Alegre, who leads a flagship of our industry in France. Aged 53, married and father of two daughters, Sébastien Alègre embodies a leadership that is committed, accessible and deeply rooted in the realities of the daily lives of families and consumers.

With over 25 years of experience at Groupe SEB, the world leader in small domestic appliances, Sébastien Alègre has built an international career as an operational manager, working closely with markets, brands, consumers, and teams. He has held general management positions in Europe, America, and Asia, notably in Italy, Mexico, Southeast Asia, and Russia, before taking over as head of the French market three years ago.

His in-depth knowledge of the industry, his experience in competitive and multicultural environments, as well as his commitment to responsible growth, will be major assets to support the work of GIFAM and strengthen the voice of the sector.
