This is the pitch of the second season of videos launched by Schöck with a view to instilling collective awareness for a choice of economical, healthy and sustainable housing.
With three new opuses: “The Great Energy Escape”, “Inventory, first part: it’s going to heat up! “, “State of play, second part: an unequal fight”.
Increased household purchasing power and energy savings
A fervent defender of the homogeneity of the building envelope, Schöck puts its expertise at the service of as many people as possible through a series of playful and educational videos, initiated in September 2022. If the first season notably scripted the hexagonal predilection for the ITI and not the ITE (contrary to the majority of European countries) and gave the main role to thermal sieves, the second part is devoted very concretely to the economic impacts of a non-homogeneous envelope. It is still aimed at individuals wishing to acquire a home, while also raising awareness of consumer associations, real estate consulting organizations, federations, institutions and politicians...
Based on the White Paper produced by the Working Group on the Quality of the Envelope (GTQE) of the Fibres-Energy Cluster, Schöck recalls that heating expenditure represents 14% of the French budget. However, increasing the heating to overcome the feeling of cold is completely useless if the accommodation concerned is poorly insulated. This is as much silver evaporated as energy escaping through untreated thermal bridges. It suffices to compare the lifespan of a building's envelope (10 to 20 years) to that of the equipment (5 to 10 years), as well as their reciprocal maintenance (ten-yearly versus annual) to understand the obvious interest of act first on the quality of this envelope, in particular by the systematic treatment of thermal bridges. The key: energy savings, reduction of the heating bill, increase in the purchasing power of households, gain in comfort and valuation of the property. In other words, the guarantee of a winning choice for the entire life of the home, both for the owner and for the occupant!
It is therefore again a question for Schöck of instilling a real dynamic so that the constructions of today are not the renovations of tomorrow.
