The opportunity to be rewarded at the UNTEC 2022 Trophies with a silver medal for its Rockcycle Réno site collection and recycling service in the Innovative renovation projects category.
Each year, the building sector emits more than 123 million tonnes of C02, which makes it one of the key areas in the fight against global warming and the energy transition. Faced with this observation, construction players are mobilizing and looking for solutions to decarbonize their activity and create new sustainable economic models.
As a player in sustainable construction and world leader in stone wool insulation solutions, ROCKWOOL presented the circular economy systems already implemented by the group to help reduce carbon emissions related to buildings. As such, as a flagship solution, created 10 years ago, Rockcycle is a site collection and recycling service for new insulation panel offcuts. A sustainable solution enriched with the development of Rockcycle Réno, which now concerns used panels on renovation or deconstruction sites. The program thus won the silver medal at the Untec 2022 Trophies in the Innovative renovation projects category.
An award welcomed by Gaëtan Fouilloux ROCKWOOL Public Affairs Manager who said: “ROCKWOOL welcomes this award, which recognizes the group's efforts to achieve our ambitious global decarbonization goals of reducing factory greenhouse gas emissions by 38% and non-factory carbon emissions by 20%. % by 2034.”
As such, in 2021 alone, the insulation sold worldwide by ROCKWOOL will save 20 TWh of energy for heating each year.
