The building is still one of the four sectors emitting the most greenhouse gases in France and is responsible for 18% of territorial emissions and 40% of final energy consumption. This is why, as part of the recovery plan, the government will devote 2,7 billion euros to the energy renovation of the State's heritage. It is therefore planned, by 2023, to renovate more than 4.200 public buildings which will have to meet two essential criteria: their energy performance and the capacity for rapid implementation of the project.
Among these projects, products from the Ecorock Duo and Rockfaçade range from ROCKWOOL, the world leader in rock wool solutions, were used for the energy renovation work of the Lycée de l'Image et du Son d'Angoulême LISA, which began in January 2020.
As Franck Porcel, director of GEO Environnement explains: “The particularity of the LISA site consisted in carrying out an ITE on 10.000 m² of earthenware walls, we had to first blow up 3000 ml of listel, treat rounded facades on satellites, compose with facades strewn with Greco-Roman columns and on a high school. in an occupied site. "
More than 10.000 m² of insulation under plaster from the Ecorock Duo range and 3.500 m² of ventilated cladding insulation from the Rockfaçade range were thus used for the building envelope.
"Taking into account the family in the fire classification for establishments open to the public, within the framework of an ITE, only rock wool can meet fire safety requirements" explains Franck Porcel.
The treatment of the facades, the obelisk and the arch is accompanied by an energy improvement thanks to the replacement of all the frames and the installation of double-glazed frames for an expected thermal saving of around 40%.
ROCKWOOL has also made its Rockcycle site waste recycling program available, in order to support the Nouvelle Aquitaine region in its Sustainable Development approach.
“We promote our technical briefs by highlighting the Rockcycle in the majority of public calls for tenders to which we respond. These are additional points that sometimes make the difference on the technical notes because of the simplicity of the implementation of the Rockcycle service and its ecological side (...) In the end, the process implemented is rather simple. For us, this is a very positive feedback with regard to our prime contractors, vis-à-vis our corporate philosophy and it does not complicate our task any more once the operating mode has been integrated by our teams.
